I learned that, too, about the Weather App. I don’t use it. I went to Windows Store and downloaded The Weather Channel App. It will give you notifications whenever there is bad weather. It will even let you know when Lightning strikes, how far away, and that you need to get to somewhere safe.

I love it, and it’s very accurate.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

Bummed that the revamped Notification Center in iOS 7 doesn’t display the weather anymore?

Never fear: getting the weather widget back in the pull-down notifications window is actually pretty easy.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

The first step to getting the weather back in Notification Center is to make sure the iOS Weather app has permission to access your current location.

  • First, let’s grant the “native” iOS 7 Weather app as permission to access your current location. Tap Settings, Privacy, Location, then scroll down to “Weather” and flip the switch on.
  • Next, go ahead and open the Weather app to make sure it’s actually updating the weather conditions for your city. Can’t find the Weather app? Try using the “Spotlight” search box (go to the home screen on your iPhone or iPad, then tap, hold and pull down on the screen), or press and hold the home key to launch Siri (just say “Launch Weather app”). Once the Weather app launches, it should kick back into gear and display the local weather.
  • Now, slide your fingertip down from the top of the screen to open Notification Center, then tap the “Today” tab; when you do, the local weather should snap back into place, just below the date. And in case you’re wondering, yes: the new weather widget is just text, no more weather icons or multi-day forecasts. Too bad.

Bonus tip

Want to see more details about the weather than just a few lines of text in Notification Center? Just tap the text to launch the iOS Weather app, complete with hourly and five-day forecasts, wind speed and humidity, and more.

While Push Notifications are designed to keep you updated, they can be annoying and distract you from whatever you are up to on your iPhone. Hence, we are providing below the steps to disable or Turn Off Push Notifications on iPhone or iPad.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

Turn OFF Push Notifications on iPhone

Push Notifications on iPhone and iPad appear in the form of banners appearing at the top of the screen, each time you receive a notification.

In general, push notifications on iOS devices can be classified into two types – Temporary and persistent.

  • Temporary: These type of Push Notifications appear momentarily at the top of the screen and then disappear after about 3-4 seconds.
  • Persistent: These type of Push Notifications remain on your screen and do not go away, until you interact with the notification.

While Push Notifications can be useful, they can sometimes be very annoying, making users look for a way to somehow Disable or Turn Off Push Notifications on iPhone.

Turn Off Push Notifications For Apps on iPhone or iPad

In case there are only certain Apps on your iPhone that bother you with unnecessary Push Notifications, you can follow the steps below to Turn OFF Push Notifications for such Apps on your iPhone or iPad.

1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.

From now on, you will no longer be bothered by Push Notifications from this particular App.

In case there are more such busy Apps, you can Disable or Turn OFF Push Notifications for such Apps by repeating the above steps.

Turn Off Push Notifications On iPhone For all Apps

Unfortunately, there is really no option to Turn OFF Push Notifications on iPhone for all Apps. The only way to Turn Off Push Notifications on iPhone for all the Apps is to enable Do Not Disturb Mode on your device.

1. Open the Control Center by swiping up from the bottom of the screen on your iPhone or iPad.

Note: In case you are using iPhone X, you will need to swipe down from the upper right side of your screen to launch Control Center.

2. Next, tap on the Do Not Disturb icon located in Control Center (See image bellow)

Note: Do Not Disturb Mode turns OFF all forms of Notifications and Alerts on your iPhone. Hence, make sure that you Disable Do Not Disturb Mode, as soon as you are done with your busy phase.

Change Push Notification Type on iPhone or iPad

Another way of dealing with Push Notifications on iPhone is to change the type of Push Notifications on your device, instead of completely disabling push notifications on your iPhone or iPad.

1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.

2. On the Settings screen, scroll down and tap on Notifications

Because they can track your location, smartphone weather apps can deliver up-to-the-moment specific info about the conditions where you are. But it turns out that comes with a price. In the summer of 2017, a security research project accused the popular AccuWeather app of selling users’ location data to a third-party advertising firm. WeatherBug was accused of doing something similar, and now the Weather Channel (which also owns the immensely popular Weather Underground app) has been hit with a lawsuit from the city of Los Angeles for covertly mining user data, a charge the company denies.

Here’s the good news: There are alternatives to those huge free apps that not only refrain from selling your data (as far as we know) but also provide deeper and more interesting information about the weather. Here are seven alternatives for the occasional user or the full-blown storm chaser.

Dark Sky has long been considered one of the best weather apps out there. Drawing data from its own weather service, the app provides up-to-the-minute weather information and a variety of other useful information as well.

It also helps that the company has been particularly vocal against misusing user data and has been transparent about how its users’ data is stored and shared. Also, with a up-front cost of $4, Dark Sky has less incentive to monetize your information, and as the developers said in a 2017 blog post: “We don’t now—and never will—share your location data with 3rd party advertisers or data monetization companies.”

If you like a little snark with your weather apps, Carrot Weather has been providing up-to-date forecasts and comedy for years, and it recently migrated to Android. Its personality ranges from lighthearted to irreverent and you can tweak Carrot’s personality to your tastes (or turn it off entirely). Just don’t be offended if your weather app calls you a “meatbag.”

With four separate weather sources at its disposal, including Dark Sky, it’s one of the most accurate weather apps out there.

Carrot Weather’s developer Brian Mueller has also been very vocal about its data practices in the wake of recent controversies, stating that, “Carrot will never sell your location information to third parties. Full stop.”

Flowx is an app jam-packed with information at just a glance. Although not a great option for daily planning, the Flowx really shines as a weeklong forecast so you can plan the perfect time for that weekend hike. Its simple slide navigation also makes storm-tracking a mesmerizing experience.

Flowx also downloads with location tracking turned off by default, so you’re safe there as well.

If you want to get really into the weeds, then RadarScope is the app you’re looking for. The app of choice for storm chasers, from amateur to professional, RadarScope gives you incredibly detailed information on coming storms and other weather patterns.

With access to 233 radar points and NEXRAD data, a constellation of Doppler radar arrays controlled by the National Weather Service, RadarScope gives you all the data you’d ever need on that dark cloud forming overhead.

It’s available on every platform imaginable, even Apple TV, and prices range from $10 (for mobile) t0 $30 (for desktop), and professional tiers come with a yearly subscription if you really want to get serious .

Of course, you can always just go with the devil you know. Google’s come along way with what it provides when you search weather in your area. On stock Android phones, this feature comes fully loaded but can be accessed on iPhone or other Android phones by downloading the Google app.

Like it or not, Google already has lots of data on you. At least this way you’re not giving it away to another company.

As Outside Magazine notes, the National Weather Service does not have a weather app. So if you see one that says NOAA in the app store, it’s not anything official from the U.S. government.

But you can create a helpful shortcut to NOAA on your smartphone’s home screen. Weather.gov walks through how to do this on both iPhone and Android.

There’s always the DIY solution: build your own home weather station and get hyperlocal data that’s delivered to your device.

We like the Netatmo Weather Station because it comes with a design you won’t might sitting inconspicuously on your kitchen counter. Netatmo’s weather app does have a feature where you can share your data with its user-generated weather map, but this feature is optional if you’re worried about privacy concerns.

The default weather location on my iPhone 5 is Maple Lake, which is NOT where I am located.

But when I hit the information button “i” Maple Lake is NOT listed, so I cannot delete it.

How do I get rid of this unwanted location in my weather app?

iPhone 5, Windows 7

To change your default weather location:

1. Open weather app

2. Add your location

3. Once you’ve added your location, press the little list icon that looks like this:

4. That will bring up the list of weather locations

5. Hold your finger on the location you want to appear on your phone and move it to the top of the list. My location is Mountain Park, GA.

6. Then go back to your home screen and swipe to see if your change was made.

I had the same problem, and my location was set to New York. I don’t live in New York. I finally figured it out.

So I can’t delete it.

That’s the problem.

None of the above solutions corrected the issue.

I still have Maple Lake as my default weather location.

Maple Lake is not on the list and so I can’t delete it.

Changing privacy and lcoation services did not change anything.

When you open the Weather app, if you look at the bottom of the screen in the center, is there a small arrowhead when looking that the weather location? If so, the weather app is picking this up as your location, it is not necessarily on the list of locations you want the weather to display. Is Maple Lake located close to where you are located? If so, it may be that this is how Yahoo lists the weather. The weather data comes from Yahoo. If Maple Lake is no where near where you are located, then double click the home button to bring up the multi-tasking bar. Find the Weather icon and press and hold it until it wiggles and a red minus sign displays on the icon. Tap that to completely close the Weather app. Tap the home button again to close the multi-tasking bar. Tap on the Weather icon again on the home page and see how it locates your weather.

Maple Lake is in the next county

I live right next to the municipal airport, which I can select as one of my secondary weather stations

Bottom line.. the default Weather app is not great and on top of that, the weather data is from Yahoo, also not great. Download a better weather app, for free. I like AccuWeather, although not as much with their last update. Google for weather app reviews.

Hi – I had this problem, too. I solved it by going into Settings> Privacy>Location Services and then I disabled location services for the weather app. I then manually added the zip code for where I actually lived and use that only. Hope that helps.

In iOS 12, Apple has included a somewhat hidden feature that lets you see the day’s weather forecast on your iPhone’s Lock Screen when you check it for the first time after waking up.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad
The feature is part of Apple’s Do Not Disturb at Bedtime mode, which prevents notifications from being displayed on your iPhone’s Lock Screen when you’re supposed to be sleeping.

Many users don’t realize you can get the weather forecast to show on the Lock Screen because of the odd way that Apple has implemented the feature. Regardless, here’s how to get it working.

Launch the Settings app on your iPhone.

  • Tap Do Not Disturb.
  • Make sure the Scheduled and Bedtime buttons are toggled on so that they’re both green.
  • You can also set your sleep and wake schedule here by adjusting the From and To times.
  • Return to the main Settings screen and tap Privacy.

  • Tap Location Services.
  • Tap Weather in the list of apps.

  • Under Allow Location Access, tap Always.
  • Exit the Settings app.
  • With that done, next time it’s time to wake up and Bedtime Mode is scheduled to go off, your iPhone will display the usual “Good morning!” message along with the day’s weather, including the current temperature, weather conditions, and forecast.

To make the forecast vanish from your Lock Screen, simply tap Dismiss. To switch the temperature scale between Celsius and Fahrenheit, launch the Weather app and scroll to the bottom of the weather locations list, where you’ll find the option to do so.

It’s worth noting that once you unlock your iPhone, the weather forecast will disappear for the rest of the day, and it won’t return until the next day when you wake up and access the device after Bedtime mode has turned itself off.

As it stands, the Lock Screen weather feature offers no other flexibility, and it won’t work unless you allow the Weather app to always access your location data. Hopefully Apple will eventually change this to make it a more useful Lock Screen “widget” in a future update to iOS.

A good many iPhone users are reporting on Apple Support that the Weather widget is not working. As per reports, the widget doesn’t update at all. So, what could be the problem behind this mess? Though I haven’t encountered this issue on the latest version of iOS, I had run into it a long way back on the previous versions of iOS. Hence, I remember the tricks that fixed the Weather widget issue on my iPhone. Given them a try!

Weather Widget Not Working on iPhone or iPad

    Solution #1: Start from Scratch

Before trying out some radical solutions, let’s start from the scratch to ensure you don’t need to dig deeper.

Step #1. Swipe right from the left of the screen to go to Lock screen.

Step #2. Now, you need to scroll down all the way to the bottom and tap on Edit.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPadStep #3. Now, make sure Weather widget is added. If you haven’t added it as yet, tap on the “+” button to the left of it.

Once your device has restarted, head over to the Lock screen to check out if the Weather widget has started working or not.

Solution #2: Allow Weather App to Always Access Your Location

When you allow the Weather app to always access your location, local weather will always be kept updated. But if you select While using the app, it is updated only when you open the app. So, make sure to select Always.

Step #1. Open Settings app → Privacy.

Let Weather app refresh its data in the background. It might help the app run smoothly. Open Settings app → General → Make sure Background App Refresh toggle is on and then turn on the switch next to Weather app. Then reboot your device. Once your iPhone has restarted, check out if the widget is not working or not.

Solution #4: Reset Location and Privacy

Still facing the problem? Try resetting location and privacy.

    Step #1. Tap on SettingsGeneral

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPadSolution #5: Reset All Settings

I’m sure the tricks as mentioned above would get the job done for you. However, I can’t discount the possibility of them not working. If that is the case, it’s time to take a hard decision, and that is to reset your device to factory default.

When you reset your iOS device to factory settings, all of your website logins and Wi-Fi passwords would be removed. But your data and media will remain safe.

Step #1. Open Settings app on your iOS device → General

Step #3. Tap on Reset All Settings and confirm.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPadSolution 6: Delete Weather App and Reinstall It

If you are yet to overcome the issue, it’s time to delete the app and reinstall it. Simply touch and hold on the app and when it starts wiggling, tap on the “X” button. Then confirm.

Solution #7: Update iOS on your Device

Haven’t got the solution as yet? Update your device to the latest iOS version.

Many a time, I’m able to troubleshoot some miscellaneous issues just by updating the device. Hence, I’d recommend you to keep your device updated. It will not only make your device more secure but also help it to run smoothly. Open Settings app → General → Software Update and install the latest iOS version.

Talking about the weather may be the ultimate sign that an awkward conversation is going nowhere. Nevertheless, most of us think about the weather often enough that we want to know what it’s going to be like outside on any given day.

In the summer, you want to know when it’s going to be boiling hot. In the winter, you need to know when to wear that extra layer. In the spring, you always want to know the rain forecast, so you have someone to blame for getting soaked after leaving your umbrella at home.

Windows 8.1 users that like the modern UI have it easy since they are many weather apps with live tiles that deliver quick updates. But if you’re one of the weather obsessed masses living solely on the desktop, you can still keep tabs on the weather. Here’s a quick look at three ways to have the current temperature and forecast always at hand on the desktop.

    Weather in the taskbar

Weatherbug delivers the weather to your desktop with a simple app and notification icon.

There are several desktop apps that put the weather in your system tray/notifications area. The one I have had the most success with is Weatherbug, which sits in your notifications area constantly displaying the current temperature.

When you first install Weatherbug, you may have to drag it into the system tray by clicking on the upward facing arrow on the right-hand side of the taskbar. In the pop-up window, just drag-and-drop the weather icon onto the notifications area.

If you need a larger icon, just leave Weatherbug running and minimize the window to the taskbar as the app displays the current weather instead of a taskbar icon.

The one thing to watch out for with Weatherbug is that it attempts to install a potentially unwanted program (PUP). It will try to install the Ask.com toolbar into your browser and change your default search engine to Ask. To avoid this switch, just press cancel when the screen with these options appears, or try using Unchecky.

    Weatherize with widgets

    The Detox skin for Rainmeter.

Windows 8 and 8.1 doesn’t have the built-in widgets feature that Windows 7 and 8 users do, but if widgets are your thing give Rainmeter a try. If you’ve never heard of it, Rainmeter is a desktop widget utility that can display all kinds of useful information on your desktop such as CPU temperature, network graphs, new headlines, and the current weather.

If you’ve never used Rainmeter before, it takes a little getting used to, but it’s not all that difficult. Check out our tutorial on how to Supercharge your desktop with Rainmeter widgets to get started.

Once you’re up and running, there are several nice skins and suites you can try out for weather displays including the basic Enigma skin that comes with Rainmeter as well as Detox, Lim!t, and myHUDS Futura 4.0.

    Permanently cloudy

Weather by 64px. is a simple Chrome extension for weather updates.

If you spend most of your day in the browser, then a browser extension that constantly displays the current temperature might make more sense for you.

A very nice choice for Chrome is Weather by 64px. A very simple and easy to understand extension, it auto-detects your location and displays the current temperature.

Click the icon and you get an hourly breakdown of today’s weather as well as a four-day forecast. This extension’s Weather data comes from Weather Underground.

I’m not a huge fan of the current crop of Firefox extensions, but Aniweather is an interesting choice. It offers a ton of information, but it also takes up a lot of space on the toolbar.

While the weather is not the most exciting topic of conversation, it’s always handy to have basic forecast and temperature information at hand, whether it’s in a widget, on the taskbar, or sitting in your browser.

Even with the News app not open on my computer, I receive push notifications generated from the News app. I’m not interested in seeing any push notifications from the News app, but I am unsure as to where, how, or even if the pushes from the app can be turned off. Is there a way to turn off pushes from a specific app such as News?

    Welcome to Microsoft Community Forum.

As per the description I understand that you need assistance to turn off the notifications of the News app. I will certainly help you with this issue.

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if it helps.

    1. Open the Charms Bar by pressing Windows key + C or by moving the mouse cursor to the lower or upper right corner of the screen.

    2. Select Settings here and then click on Change PC settings at the bottom.

    3. This opens the start page control panel where you can make modifications to this part of the operating system.

    4. Click on Notifications. You now have the following options:

•Turn off app notifications on the lock screen

    •Turn off notification sounds

•Turn off notifications for individual apps

    5. Select Turn off notifications for individual apps.

    6. Try to turn off the notifications for the News App.

    7. Restart the computer and check if it helps.

Microsoft Teams is absolutely loaded with features designed to enhance collaboration. Between the chats, channels, Teams, @mentions, and likes, notifications can certainly get out of control in a hurry!

That said, it’s also super important to understand how to make sure you’re not missing anything important or relevant to your workstream. Here are a few tips to help you fine-tune Microsoft Teams notifications to your needs.

How the Microsoft Teams Desktop or WebApp Sends Notifications

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

There are three primary options when it comes to notifications in Microsoft Teams. The “Banner and email” notification setting will show a banner message pop-up in the lower right of the screen and send an email (you can set the frequency) with the notification information. If you select the “Banner” option, the banner notification will still show, but no email will be sent. If you select “Only show in feed” the notification will only be visible via the feed in the upper left of the application.

You’ll still find the number of notifications in your activity feed, and via the feed you’ll be able to keep a list record of recent notifications. You can also filter the notifications in your feed by type, a feature that comes in handy when looking through your recent @mentions.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

    Options for Notification Types

Under your profileàSettingsàNotifications in the Microsoft Teams application, there are many actions that can generate notifications. Luckily, there are also granular controls to help you adjust how you want each to behave.

As you think through your options, keep in mind that there are additional supporting tools to help manage your notifications as you work. For instance, it’s possible to enable desktop banner notifications via the Microsoft Teams desktop application. You may also want to set up Outlook inbox sweep rules to manage email notifications rather than turning them off (or use Microsoft Flow to kick off other actions from those notifications!).

It’s important to note that Team owners can prevent @mentions in Teams settings (see below) and that you can unfollow or “mute” chats so they don’t generate notifications.

It’s true that many of us do not like to be overloaded with tons of notifications, but it’s also true that we want to be sure we don’t miss any important updates or requests, even when we’re not at our desks. Critical alerts are notifications that appear even when your iPhone or iPad is in Do Not Disturb mode or silenced. These include notifications with crucial information about weather emergencies or important health alerts from connected devices.

    How Do Critical Alerts work?

Apple’s iOS 12 introduced critical alerts along with several other notification enhancements. They cannot be silenced because they contain essential information you need to be aware of. Weather, health, and security apps might generate a critical alert notification, for example. Like standard notifications, you need to opt in to receive them.

Not all apps are allowed to send critical alerts. Before an app can send critical alerts, the developer needs to apply for an entitlement from Apple. Apple manually vets apps to ensure the information is critical.

Critical alerts are different from standard notifications. They’ll work even if you do not allow other notifications from the app. You may not have any apps that can send critical alerts, but if you do, there a couple of ways to enable those notifications.

How to Turn On an App’s Critical Alerts

Many apps with critical alerts will prompt you to enable them the first time you open the app. You’ll see a message saying the app “would like to send you critical alerts.” Tap “Allow” to activate critical alerts from that app. You may be able to customize what the app alerts you about from within the app itself.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

If you don’t enable critical alerts when the app is first launched (or just need to change the setting), you can tweak it in Settings > Notifications.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPadHow to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

Tap the app for which you want to adjust Critical alerts settings and then toggle the “Allow Critical Alerts” switch.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPadHow to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

That’s it! If you enabled the feature, critical alerts will ring through on your iPhone or iPad even if Do Not Disturb is on.

Why You Should Enable Critical Alerts

Not every app includes critical alerts. You’ll find this feature in apps designed to keep you safe, including health, weather, and security apps.

There are times that you want to disconnect or minimize your interruptions. But, when there’s a tornado in your area, you can’t afford to be disconnected. That’s what critical alerts are for—the alert that breaks you out of your disconnection might just save your life.

Apple doesn’t want apps to abuse this powerful feature, which is why app developers have to apply and argue their case to Apple before including this feature. Apple knows it’s essential to disconnect sometimes, but you might still want to receive notifications that protect you from danger. That being said, critical alerts are an opt-in service. You don’t have to get them, but if an app you’re using offers them, it’s probably a good idea to accept.

“I have this issue on my new iPhone 7 running iOS 10.3.3: all the push notification aren’t working. I’m trying to use WhatsApp, Telegram, mail, FaceBook, Tumblr etc… but no one is working with notification.” One iPhone 7 user reported this iOS 10.3.3 notification issue.

With the notification feature, you can quickly get the news and messages of your iPhone apps. Usually, this feature works well on your device. But sometimes, it may not work due to some reasons like mistaken settings and network issues.

iPhone Notifications issues you may meet

You may met various iPhone notifications problems after restoring or installing new software update like iOS 10.3.3 or iOS 11 final version. Below we summarized some common “iPhone notification not working” issues.

How to fix notifications not working on iPhone 7

Some apps offer you the section to turn off the notification in app. If you disable any sections on notification settings in app, you can’t get the corresponding notification messages, although you are clear that you have turned on notification on iPhone Settings,

For example, after opening Twitter app, you can get the Push Notification settings by hitting your head picture > Settings and privacy > Notification > Push Notification. If you disable any sections, you won’t get related notifications.

    4. Mute Switch

If you mute your iPhone, there is no notifications sounds alerting you. So make sure not silence your device by using the mute switch on the left side of your iPhone 7.

    5. Wi-Fi or Cellular Network

If you are running in a bad Wi-Fi or Cellular network, app won’t update news and put your notifications normally. So make sure your iPhone 7 is connected to a stable network.

    6. iOS bugs

You may get a notification bug after updating your iPhone to iOS 10.3.3/iOS 11. So you can try to restore your device or waiting for new software update to fix this bug. Additionally, you can upload this bug to Apple Official Support.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I set a location?

    • Press the menu icon located at the top right of the app.

    • Press Add Location
    • Search by city, zip code or address, and select the city name when it appears.

NOTE: Here you can also set what alerts you wish to receive via notifications.

Checking the weather is something we all make use of on our Apple Watch.

    Why does it matter?

Weather affects the everyday lives of individuals by governing choices from what clothes to put on, when to travel, and the activities in which they participate.

With the default Weather app on your Apple Watch, you can immediately know the current temperature, future forecast, and avoid the hassle of looking it up on a laptop or iOS device.

While this application performs really well most of the time, some users recently reported a few problems with it.

    This include:

    • Inaccurate data
    • Unable to detect users’ location
    • Weird spinning
    • And much more

We will discuss them below and show you how to fix each issue.

    Basic Troubleshooting

It doesn’t matter what your problem is, try one of the most basic methods below.

    1. Restart your Apple Watch
    2. Unpair both devices and then re-pair them
    3. Enable Airplane Mode and disable it after 10 seconds

No Location in the Weather app

I asked Siri on my Apple Watch to check for the weather. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to identify my current location. If this happens to you, try the solution below.

    1. Go to the Settings app
    2. Navigate to Privacy > Location Services
    3. Turn this feature on

If that still doesn’t work, try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, the internet connection wasn’t strong enough for Apple Watch to detect your location.

Spinning dots or Cannot Retrieve Any Data

Step 1: Open Apple Watch app > My Watch > Weather > Default City

Step 2: Set it to Current location or the city of your choice.

Step 3: Try to delete the cities you have on the weather app and reload them.

By deleting and reloading, some users have found that the information is correctly synced and displayed on the watch.

    Hate the default Weather app?

No worries, you still have a few more options to choose from. One of the most popular apps in this category is the Dark Sky. This app gives you the current weather, daily hi/low and sunrise sunset times in a nice looking interface.

If you are big into customizing your Watch faces, Carrot has some useful features, and their watch face is customizable. The last application that you may want to check out is called Wunderground. It also has Radar feature in which you can see the storm intensity.

My notifications seem to disappear quickly. How can I see a whole day of notifications? Also, can I see notifications by app? I thought that was a feature and I can’t find it anymore.

Your Notification Center is ordered with the most recent notification at the top. How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

Facebook is really keen on keeping you on their platform. One of the ways they do that is by sending you notifications whenever the tiniest thing happens. And you won’t just see them on the site—Facebook will also notify you by email, with mobile push notifications, and even with text messages.

Let’s look at how to tame all this, so Facebook isn’t nagging you every second of every day.

    On the Web

Log in to Facebook click the dropdown arrow in the top right and select Settings.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

Next, select Notifications from the sidebar. You can also just go directly there by clicking this link.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

Under Notifications Settings, you’ll see four options—On Facebook, Email Address, Mobile, and Text Message—as well as a summary of the kind of notifications you receive through each.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

To change which notifications you receive through each channel, click Edit. Each menu has a different range of options. Let’s start with On Facebook.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

Here you control what notifications appear in the Notifications Menu when you log in to Facebook. You can also turn off sounds if you don’t want Facebook beeping at you whenever someone likes your photo.

Next up, we’ll look at the options under Email Address.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

There are a huge range of options for what you can get notified for by email. Click Turn On next to any you want to receive. If you want to turn off an email notification, you need to click Unsubscribe at the bottom of the email itself.

If you don’t want to receive any notifications by email, select Only Notifications About Your Account, Security and Privacy under What You’ll Receive. This way you’ll only get notified by email when important things happen, like someone requests a password reset.

Under Mobile, you can control what push notifications you get through Facebook’s mobile app. Unfortunately, you can only Turn On notifications you’ve turned off in the past. We’ll look at controlling mobile notifications from the mobile apps in a minute.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

Text Message has the fewest options. You can turn text notifications on or off, as well as decide whether you want to be notified about Comments or Posts, Friend Requests, or All Other SMS Notifications.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

While it’s up to you how you want to be notified of things happening on Facebook, we’d recommend you take a conservative approach. I allow Facebook to notify me about anything and everything when I’m logged in, but don’t allow emails or texts, and only allow a few select mobile push notifications.

    On the iPhone or iPad

Managing your Facebook notifications on an iOS device is actually a little tricky, as various features are spread in different locations. If you want to turn off all push notifications, the simplest thing to do is go to Settings > Notifications > Facebook and turn off Allow Notifications.

To manage your Notifications with a bit more nuance, open the Facebook app and head to Settings > Account Settings > Notifications.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPadHow to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

There are two groups of options here: How You Get Notifications and What Notifications You Get.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

How You Get Notifications controls how notifications are sent to you. The controls here are less granular than through the website, so if you want to customize what notifications you see on Facebook or what emails you get, it’s better to do it there.

To control what push notifications you get on your iPhone, tap Mobile. Here you can change whether Facebook push notifications play a sound and turn on any category of push notification you’ve turned off.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

You can also turn off the kind of notifications you want to receive but it works a little differently than how you might be used to. Rather than working with toggles, Facebook shows you your recent notifications. If you don’t want to receive a certain kind of notification again, just tap it. You can also quickly adjust what notifications you see from the Notifications menu.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

What Notifications You Get gives you control over some of Facebook’s optional notifications, like being notified when a friend posts something, when someone has an upcoming birthday, or when someone posts to a group you’re in. You aren’t able to turn off notifications for things like people posting on your Timeline or tagging you, however.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

    On Android

Open the Facebook app and head to Notification Settings.

How to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPadHow to Get Weather Channel Push Notifications in Wunderground for iPhone or iPad

Facebook’s Android app actually has the best notification management settings. Select the activity you do or don’t want to be notified about, such as Activity About You or Friend Requests, and then use the three toggles—Push, Email, and SMS—to decide what way you want to be notified. If you turn all three off, you’ll only be notified in the app.

You can also turn off push notifications entirely by selecting Push under Where You Receive Notifications and turning on Do Not Disturb.

Like with iOS devices, you can also turn specific notifications off from the Notifications Menu on Android.

Facebook seems to deliberately make managing notifications difficult. Hopefully now you have a better idea how to get a handle on them.
