Apple’s iCloud now allows you to undelete files you’ve deleted from iCloud Drive, restore recently deleted photos, and revert your contacts and calendars to a previous state. If you accidentally deleted something, you can get it back.
The data may also be stored elsewhere, too. For example, if you’re syncing your iPhone’s contacts with Gmail, you can restore contacts from within Gmail. But iCloud is maturing and gaining features competitors have had for a long time.
Restore Files, Contacts, and Calendars From iCloud’s Website
Apple now allows you to restore iCloud Drive files, contacts, and calendars. However, you’ll have to visit iCloud’s website to do it. There’s no trash folder in iCloud Drive as there is in other cloud storage services, which means this is the only way to regain access to a file once you’ve deleted it.
To access this feature, visit the iCloud website and sign in with your Apple ID. Verify yourself to gain access to the website, and then click the Settings icon. Scroll down and you’ll see “Advanced” options at the bottom of the page. At the bottom-left corner of the web page, you’ll see links to “Restore Files,” “Restore Contacts,” and “Restore Calendars & Reminders.”
When restoring files, you can choose the individual files you want to restore. Files appear to be kept for 30 days after you delete them.
When restoring contacts or calendars and reminders, you can’t restore individual items. Instead, you’re restoring a “snapshot” of the state of your contacts or calendars at that specific previous date. This is useful if you accidentally delete something.
Restore Photos From iCloud Photo Library
If you’re using Apple’s iCloud Photo Library to store your photos online, you can also restore deleted photos. You can restore these photos on iCloud’s website, on a Mac with the Photos app, or on your iPhone or iPad.
- Any Web Browser: Go to iCloud’s website, sign in, click the Photos icon, select the “Albums” category, and open the “Recently Deleted” album.
- iPhone or iPad: Open the Photos app, select Albums, and select Recently Deleted.
- Mac OS X: Open the Photos app, click the File menu, and select “Show Recently Deleted.” Unlike on other platforms, there’s no “Recently Deleted” album in the Albums view here.
As with files you delete in iCloud Drive, copies of your deleted photos are stored for 30 days.
Can You Restore Data From Time Machine on a Mac?
On a Mac, you can potentially use Time Machine to restore files and other data, assuming you’re backing up with Time Machine. For example, if you want to restore files you’ve deleted from iCloud Drive, open the Time Machine file-restore interface and select the iCloud Drive folder. Older copies of your iCloud Drive files should appear here.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to work properly on Mac OS X Yosemite. Time Machine seems to interact with iCloud Drive in a weird way, and may not may not be backing up all the data you’ve stored in iCloud Drive. It’s probably better to use the restore feature on the iCloud website.
Restore From a Device Backup
In a worst-case scenario, you could potentially restore this data from a device backup.
For example, let’s say you never enabled iCloud contact-syncing on your iPhone, but you desperately need to restore your contacts after they’ve been deleted. If you created backups of your iPhone in iTunes, you could restore those full device backups to your phone and get the data — and everything else — back to the state it was in when the backup was created.
You could potentially do this with iCloud backups, too. Restore an iCloud backup to the device and you can restore its contacts, calendars, and other data to the state it was in. However, if you do have iCloud enabled, restoring individual types of data will likely be a better solution.
This isn’t necessarily the only way to restore data, of course. If you’re syncing that data with other services, you can use the other service to restore data. For example, if you automatically upload photos to Dropbox or Google Photos, you can restore deleted photos from those apps and websites.
If you sync your contacts with your Google account, you can go to the Gmail website, open the Contacts view, and use the More > Restore contacts option to restore deleted contacts. Other services may have similar tools.
Have you lost any content on iCloud? Have you accidentally deleted a contact, file, calendar event or bookmark and don’t know how to restore them? Follow this quick and easy guide!
Su iCloud we are now used to storing a lot of information, taking advantage of the convenience of having it all at hand on our Apple devices. However, it can happen that you accidentally delete a contact, a file from iCloud Drive, a calendar or a favorite from iCloud and also lose it on all other devices. Fortunately, there is a way to recover this content.
If you have lost iCloud bookmarks, files, calendars and contacts, you can try recover them in a few simple steps.
- Go to iCloud.com and log in with your account. This procedure works on Mac, iPad, and other desktop computers
- Click Account Settings
- Scroll to the bottom of the page
- In Advanced, located at the bottom left, click on Restore files, Restore contacts, Restore calendars or Restore bookmarks
- Choose an available archive to restore
Warning: the archive you select will replace the contacts, calendars and bookmarks you currently have on all your devices. In any case, iCloud will still store your current contacts, calendars and bookmarks so that you can restore them if necessary.
For calendars, you will need to set shared ones again as they will be removed during the restore process.

In case you have accidentally deleted Photos, Contacts or Files on your iPhone or Mac, the deleted items are likely to be available in your iCloud Account. You will find below the steps to recover deleted Photos, Contacts and Files from iCloud.
Recover Deleted Photos, Contacts and Files From iCloud
When you delete Photos from iCloud on your iPhone or Mac, the deleted Photos are simply moved to Recently Deleted Folder in iCloud and remain in this location for a period of 30 days in your iCloud Account.
After 30 days the deleted Photos are permanently removed from iCloud and you won’t be able to recover them.
Similarly, deleted Files, Contacts, Calendars and Notes also remain in your iCloud Account for a period of 30 days, before they are permanently deleted from your iCloud Account.
While it is possible to recover selected Files and Photos from iCloud, you won’t be able to recover individual Contacts, Calendars and Reminders from iCloud.
iCloud basically takes a “snapshot” of your Contacts and Calendars at periodic time intervals and you will be able to choose one of these Snapshots to restore Contacts and Calendars from.
Recover Deleted Photos From iCloud
Since, Photos and Videos take up a lot of iCloud storage, they happen to be the first items that users delete to recover storage space on iCloud.
Luckily, iCloud does not immediately remove deleted Photos and Videos from your iCloud account. This allows you to recover deleted Photos, in case you had deleted them by mistake.
1. Using your Mac or PC, go to iCloud.com and Sign-in to your iCloud Account.
2. Once you are in iCloud, click on the Photos Icon.
3. Next, click on Recently Deleted Album in the side menu and click on the Photos that you want to Restore.

Unless you have disabled the option to backup Contacts to iCloud, you have a pretty good chance of recovering Deleted Contacts from iCloud.
1. Using your PC or Mac visit iCloud.com and sign-in to your iCloud Account.
2. Once you are in iCloud, click on the Settings icon.
3. Next, click on Restore Contacts option located under “Advanced” section at the bottom left corner of your screen.
4. On the next screen, click on the Contact’s Archive File that you want to Restore.
5. On the Pop-up that appears, click on Restore option to confirm.
As you can see from the image above, iCloud makes a backup of your current Contacts, when you restore Contacts using an available backup file on iCloud.
This will allow you to Restore missing New Contacts, in case the Archive of iCloud Contacts that you are Restoring does not contain the New Contacts that you had added after the date on iCloud Archive.
How to Recover Deleted Files From iCloud

It’s great to see that Apple has finally implemented this feature as it can go a long way for those who accidentally end up deleting their files from iCloud without any sort of knowledge. Furthermore, recovering contacts is a huge deal maker here for every user out there. We really wish this feature was there from day one since iCloud made its big debut, but there you have it, it’s now here and every user can make use of it to their heart’s desire.
iCloud is a great way to create a backup of your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, and can save you from a lot of trouble from losing everything altogether. If you’re an iOS user, then we recommend that you go to Settings > iCloud > Backup and turn the ‘iCloud Backup’ switch to the ON position. Once you’re done, your iOS device will create a backup of everything on Apple’s servers when your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is plugged into a power source.
If you ever lose your device for any reason, then you can simply restore everything from iCloud when you’re setting up your new device. Your photos, contacts, calendars, reminds and files will be back as they were when you created the backup.
When you sign up for iCloud, you got 5 GB of free storage. iCloud automatically backs up your iPhone over Wi-Fi every day while it’s turned on, locked, and connected to a power source. Your iCloud backup includes data and settings stored on your iPhone, such as contacts, notes, calendars, bookmarks, mail messages, photo stream, etc. To decide what are backed up from your iPhone, iPad or iPod : navigate to your iPhone, go Setting > iCloud, then turn on iCloud backup.
Solution 1: How to restore your contacts with iCloud
When you set up a new iOS device or need to restore contacts on one you already have, your iCloud backup makes it easy.

- Clean up your iDevice. Go to Settings >General >Reset, then tap Erase all content and settings.
- In the Setup Assistant, proceed to “Set up your device,” tap Restore from a Backup, then sign in to iCloud.
- Proceed to “Choose backup,” then choose from a list which contains your previous contacts backup in iCloud.
Warning : Since you have to erase all content on your iPhone before recovering contacts from your iCloud, the process could also erase some new and important data on your devices.

Apple has little known iCloud tools that are designed to let you recover files that have been deleted from iCloud, as well as recover Contacts, Calendars, and Reminders that have been lost.
Lost iCloud data isn’t a situation that comes up often, but these tools were introduced following an iCloud Drive bug in 2015 that caused some users to lose documents stored in iCloud Drive, prompting the creation of the tool.
Accessing Your Files on iCloud.com
1. Visit the iCloud.com website on your web browser of choice.
2. Enter your Apple ID, password, and two-factor authentication code if the feature is enabled.
3. Once logged in, click on the “Settings” app in the main iCloud menu.
4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page until you reach the “Advanced” section.
5. Click on the content that you need to restore. Options include files stored in iCloud Drive, a list of contacts, your Calendars and Reminders, or your Bookmarks.
Using the “Restore Files” option on iCloud.com brings up a list of all files that have been deleted over the past 30 days. It includes files from apps that support iCloud Drive, such as Pixelmator, Napkin, and Byword.
You can select a single file to restore or multiple files, should there have been a catastrophic event that caused iCloud Drive to be wiped entirely. Check the box to make a selection and click “Restore File.” Using the file restoration tool returns the file in question to iCloud Drive in its original parent folder, much like undeleting a photo on iOS.
Deleted iCloud Drive files remain available in iCloud for 30 days before being permanently deleted, at which point they become unrecoverable. As a side note, you cannot do a manual permanent deletion with iCloud Drive files as you can do with Photos on iOS – they’re sticking around for the full 30 days.
Restoring Contacts, Calendars, and Reminders
Apple regularly archives a list of Contacts, which can be restored to an iOS device at any time. Restoring a list of contacts from the archive will replace the contacts on all iOS devices connected to your iCloud account, while archiving the current list of contacts to ensure nothing is lost. Contacts can’t be restored one by one — this is an all or nothing batch operation.
Restoring Calendars and Reminders works like restoring Contacts. Apple frequently creates a backup for the two apps, capturing snapshots for more than a month. Any of these archives can be used to replace a current Calendar or Reminder list, replacing the existing information on all connected iOS devices.
Restoring a Calendar will remove all sharing information, so Calendars and Reminders shared with friends and family will need to be shared again. All scheduled events will also be cancelled and recreated, reissuing all invitations for events.
Along with Contacts and Calendars, Apple backs up the bookmarks that you have removed from your Bookmarks list in Safari on a regular basis.
To restore them, simply choose the deleted bookmarks you would like to put back in place and then choose the “Restore” option.

The majority of Apple device owners use iCloud every day in one way or another, but less are familiar with the Web version of the service — iCloud.com. A new feature added to iCloud.com makes it possible to now restore any files, contacts, calendars or reminders that may have been inadvertently deleted.
Log into iCloud.com from your favorite browser, then click on the Settings button. At the bottom left of the Settings page is an “Advanced” section, with links for Restoring files, contacts, calendars, and reminders.
Click on Restore Files, and a list of recently deleted files in iCloud appears (see image below). Checking the box before a file name marks it for restoration. Each file also includes a number of days until the file is gone for good.
As you can see, some files have as many as three weeks to go until they’re deleted permanently, while one — marked in red — is showing only three days remaining. Clicking the Restore Contacts button displays a similar list:
The difference between this and the file restore function is that while individual files are listed in the latter, archives of the entire contact list are listed here. It appears that contacts are archived automatically once a week unless additions or deletions to the list are made. In any case, clicking the Restore link on any archive replaces all of your contacts on all devices. This will restore deleted contacts, but it will remove any that have been added since your last archive. The next feature is Restore Calendars:
Here, a list of calendar and reminder archives is displayed. Sharing information is removed, and any event that you’ve invited others to will be canceled, recreated, and the recipients will receive a new invitation. As with contacts, Restore Calendars restores deleted calendar and reminder items, and removes any that have been added since the last archive.
The new restore capability is another reason for Mac OS X and iOS users to embrace the use of Apple’s cloud solution.
While eliminating some of the unnecessary data, you accidentally deleted some of the important files. And now you are desperately willing to recover all the deleted files from iCloud on your computer or iOS device.
Take a breath, mate! You are not out of luck at all. Thanks to the iCloud file recovery system, restoring the deleted files both on Mac and iPhone is hassle-free. Of course, there are some limitations, but you can retrieve most of the lost files.
When you delete files, they stay in the iCloud for up to 30 days before being permanently removed. As iCloud backup includes most of the essential files like app data, device settings, HomeKit configuration, iMessage, photos, videos, purchase history from Apple services, like your music, movies, TV shows, apps, books and more, you will be able to retrieve your stuff without any pain.
Talking about how iCloud data recovery works; it’s not known to be super speedy. Besides, you will be able to reclaim the deleted data efficiently only from the icloud.com on the computer.
Though the recent iOS versions do let you recover recently deleted files, it’s not the ideal way as yet. So, if you are willing to regain the data a bit more efficiently, you need to be on the desktop with the active Internet connection at the disposal!
How to Recover Deleted iCloud Files on Mac or Windows PC
Step #1. Open any web browser on your computer and head over to icloud.com. Then, sign in to your iCloud account.
Step #2. Now, click on the Settings icon.
Step #3. Under the “Advanced” section, you have multiple options:
- Recover Files
- Restore Contacts
- Restore Calendars and Reminders
- Restore Bookmarks
Now, select the option based on requirement. Then, pick and choose the data you wish to retrieve. In the end, hit the Restore button.
There is also an option to select all the data, so go for this option if you want to get everything back. Then, wait for some time as iCloud data recovery doesn’t work with blazing fast speed. All of your selected data will be restored in the respective apps or the original locations.
iOS 11 or later comes with a native file manager called “Files” that allow you to retrieve the recently eliminated files from iCloud Drive. So, if you have deleted any of your iCloud drive files, follow the below steps to recover them on your iOS device.
How to Recover Recently Deleted Files from iCloud Drive on iPhone and iPad
Step #1. Open Files app on your iOS device.
Step #2. Now, tap on the Browse tab and then hit the Recently Deleted.
Step #3. Next, you should see all of your deleted files. Tap on Select at the top right corner and then choose the files you want to get back and hit the Recover button.
That’s it! These files will now be available in their original folder.
Now that you know how to regain the lost files, use the methods to get back your data if you ever find yourself on the wrong side of the fence. It’d be better had there been a full-fledged data recovery system on the iOS device itself. I wish Apple included it sooner than later.

This guide is about the How to Restore Lost Calendars from iCloud. I will try my best so that you understand this guide very well. I hope you all like this guide How to Restore Lost Calendars from iCloud.
If you’re an avid iPhone or iPad user, there’s a pretty good chance you can use the Calendar app to schedule events or add reminders so you can keep track of your appointments throughout the week. Thanks to Siri, it only takes a few seconds to create an event or reminder. These reminders and calendar events are automatically synced to all of your Apple devices, taking advantage of the power of iCloud, so they’re easily accessible no matter what device you’re using.
But what happens if you lose your calendars and calendar information? Losing calendar and reminder information can be stressful, but this article shows you how to use iCloud to recover lost calendars and reminders. You can start this data recovery process from any Mac, Windows computer, or device with a full desktop web browser.
There are several situations that can cause the loss of calendars and reminders. Rarely, iOS users may encounter various problems when trying to update system software, which can potentially erase data from your device. You may also lose access to calendar events if you forgot to transfer your information after purchasing a new device. So, if you’re one of those iPhone or iPad users who lost their events and other reminders, you’ve come to the right place. In this article, we’ll discuss exactly how you can recover and recover all lost calendars and reminders from iCloud.
Restore calendars and reminders from iCloud
Let’s take a look at the steps needed to recover missing calendars, events, and reminders using iCloud. Note that if you don’t use iCloud to sync and back up data from iPhone and iPad, this feature isn’t available to you.
- Open any web browser, such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc., from your computer, Mac, or iPad and type iCloud.com in the address bar. To sign in to iCloud, click the arrow icon after entering your Apple ID and password.
- Click Account Settings below your Name and profile picture to go to the iCloud settings section.
- In the Advanced section of this page, click Restore Calendars. This will open a new pop-up menu.
Now you will find several archives of calendar events and reminders. Click “Restore” next to the date before you lost your information. Recovery takes a few minutes.
When you are finished, close the window and click Finish to end the process. Restoring your calendar from the archive will cancel and create all scheduled events. In addition, all shared information associated with the calendar event will be deleted.
That’s all there is to it.
The archive of the calendars you return will replace the existing calendars on all your devices signed in to the same Apple ID.
Current calendar events on your devices are stored and backed up in iCloud as a separate archive.
In addition to restoring calendars, the Apple iCloud website also allows you to restore contacts, files, and documents from iCloud Drive and Safari bookmarks. However, it should be noted that these data recovery features cannot be used with a mobile browser, so if you try this procedure from an iPhone, you will be unlucky (although you can try this tip by logging in to iCloud.com from the desktop site if you can handle small taps).
Given how iCloud backup is enabled by default on all supported Apple devices, restoring lost calendar events shouldn’t be much of a hassle, but it’s important to use iCloud to access these features. If you’ve ever manually disabled iCloud at some point for some reason, this procedure won’t help you recover lost data.
