An assortment of holiday-themed postcards will be available from early December through early January. Be sure to pick up your favorites while you have the chance!
You can customize your postcards by typing a personalized message. If you send one to an animal resident on your island, they might even respond!

After you finish typing your message, you can attach a present. At the bottom right of the Nintendo Switch screen, click the icon that looks like a gift. Select the item you want to attach from your inventory, and then select “OK” to send your postcard.
Your recipient will receive it in their mailbox the next day.
Remember to jump into the game on Christmas day to spot Jingle the Reindeer and join in on all the festive activities! Hopefully, the new toys will help you get into the holiday spirit while you wait.

Toy Day is Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ version of a gift-giving winter holiday like Christmas, and it features a delightful reindeer named Jingle. There are a handful of event-exclusive rewards that can only be obtained on Toy Day, so you won’t want to miss out. Our ACNH Toy Day event guide explains everything you need to do to get exclusive DIY recipes and furniture.
When is Toy Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
Toy Day takes place on Dec. 24 every year. You’ll know that the event is taking place, as Isabelle will say something during the morning announcements, and your villagers will be wearing santa hats.
How to participate in Toy Day
Jingle will appear in front of your Resident Services building on Dec. 24 seeking help. When you talk to him, he’ll give you the recipe for Festive Wrapping Paper, and will request that you make him three. The making one Festive Wrapping Paper will require one of each color of Ornament, which you can find by shaking pine trees.
Once you give him the three pieces of Festive Wrapping Paper, he’ll give you a Magic Sack to deliver presents. He’ll also give you Toy Day Stockings, which you can hang on the wall in your home. If you do so, you’ll be able to interact with the stockings and obtain Jingle’s Photo on Dec. 25. What a kind gift from the black-nosed reindeer!
Delivering gifts to villagers on Toy Day
With the Magic Sack in hand, equipped like a tool, you can talk to villagers to deliver them gifts. You won’t need to pick a gift based on their personality or anything like that, you’ll just need to talk to them to hand over a goody. Some villagers may even return the favor, giving you one of the toy items that were available from Nook’s Cranny throughout the month.
Once you deliver gifts to half of your residents, you’ll get a DIY recipe for a Gift Pile. Delivering gifts to every villager will reward you the Toy Day Sleigh furniture item. You can interact with the Magic Sack in your inventory to see how many gifts you have left to give.
You do not need to buy toys from Nook’s Cranny or have a Santa outfit to do this.
Once you’re all done delivering gifts for Jingle, you can also wrap up items and give them to your villagers. In exchange, they’ll give you presents. The presents will be randomly picked from the toys that Nook’s Cranny has been selling during the month of December, so if you missed out on buying any, one of your villagers might be kind enough to give you one for Toy Day.
Jingle’s Photo, the Toy Day Stockings, the Toy Day Sled, and the DIY recipes for the Festive Wrapping Paper and Gift Pile are all the event-exclusive items you can get from Toy Day. If you find yourself wondering where to get some winter- or holiday-themed items you saw elsewhere, you’re probably looking for a recipe you get from Snowboys or balloons during the winter.

What to do during the Toy Day Animal Crossing: New Horizons Event!
Toy Day is the winter holiday within Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The holiday is celebrated on Dec. 24th, however, players have several season items available as early as Dec. 1st. Along with additional items, there are several things to take part in on Toy Day that unlock more for players.
Making Toy Day Festive Wrapping Paper
One of the first things players can do on Toy Day is speaking to Jingle the reindeer. He’ll ask the player for help as he has many presents to wrap, but doesn’t have the paper he needs to wrap them. He’ll gift the player with the special Festive Wrapping Paper DIY so that players can make it for him.
Players should create three sheets of this paper to complete this task. Shake the trees on the island to knock ornaments down. Here are the ones needed to create this DIY.
What players need to craft a sheet of Festive Wrapping Paper:
- One Red Ornament
- One Blue Ornament
- One Gold Ornament
Hang up Toy Day Stockings
Jingle will reward the player for crafting his wrapping paper with some stockings. He’ll then contemplate what would happen if the player happened to hang the stockings up in their home before the night was over. Players should make sure to hang these up in their homes before the day is over in order to get Jingle’s Photo on the following day.
Toy Day Present Delivery
After the player has helped Jingle out with his wrapping paper needs, he’ll ask the player to take his Magic Bag and deliver presents to all of the villagers of the island. Make sure to check for them everywhere on the island, including in their home. Players can check the bag at any time to see how many presents they still need to deliver.
- 50% of Gifts Delivered – Gift Pile
- 100% of Gifts Delivered – Toy Day Sleigh
Give and Receive Toy Day Presents
After handing out the Magic Bag gifts, players can also choose to purchase gifts for villagers of their own. Depending on the relationship that the player has with each of the villagers they may or may not get a present in return. If they do gift the player, it will be a special colored Toy Day-specific item.
At this point in time, players can also do gift exchanges with the other islanders. Wrapping paper is the main item players should use for trading. This will get players other Toy Day furniture items.

How to participate in Toy Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
To participate in the event: first, you have to just help Jingle deliver all the gifts to villagers. Jingle will eventually appear on the front of your building on December 24. Just talk to him to get the Festive Warping Paper recipe. You have to make three wrapping papers with the help of colorful ornaments. One festive wrapping paper requires one ornament of each color that can be found on the pine trees.
Shake some pine trees to get all the required ornaments. Once you complete this task, Jingle will give you the Magic Sack.
You just have to talk to other villagers to deliver them their presents and treats. It’s a pretty easy job actually for great exclusive rewards. However, something worth noting here is that you don’t need to pick a gift according to their liking. You just have to talk to them to hand over their treats and presents.
In #AnimalCrossing: New Horizons, there’s two rewards to obtain from Jingle–after handing out presents to all your Villagers. After 5 Presents, you’ll obtain the Gift Pile DIY Recipe. After all 10 Presents, you’ll obtain the Toy Day Sleigh. These are Toy Day exclusive rewards! pic.twitter.com/pUkhKIWDYd

Toy Day is an event in the Animal Crossing series that takes place on December 24. [nb 5] It is based on Christmas and the holiday season and features Jingle, a reindeer who delivers presents. In games prior to Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Toy Day is the sole source of items from the Jingle Series.

Appearances [ edit ]
In Animal Crossing [ edit ]
On December 23, Tortimer appears near the wishing well and gives the player a gift if spoken to. If the player is a boy, they will receive a Miniature Car. If the player is a girl, they will receive a Dolly.
On December 24, from 8 PM to 1 AM, Jingle will be out delivering presents. After the player speaks with Jingle for the first time, he will tell them that they are not on his list of people to give gifts to. If the player leaves the acre, Jingle will reappear in another acre and, if spoken to, will ask the player whether they like “big things” or “foldable things” more. Each time the player leaves the acre and finds Jingle again, he will have more dialogue; the next time he asks whether they like “woven things” or “printed things” more, then he asks which the player likes more out of the previous two answers. Afterward, Jingle will give the player a gift, and depending on their answer to the final question, the gift will be different; answering “Big things!” results in a piece of furniture from the Jingle Series, “Foldable things!” results in a Jingle Shirt, “Woven things!” results in a Jingle Carpet, and “Printed things!” results in a Jingle Wall.
If the player speaks to Jingle again, he explains that he only gives one gift to each person; however, if the player changes their clothing, he mistakes them for another person and asks them another question. This time, Jingle asks the same question he asked before giving the first gift. He then gives a gift when spoken to next. After the player receives their tenth total gift, Jingle realizes what they are doing and will not give out any more gifts. This, paired with the fact that two of the options cannot be chosen, [nb 6] means it is not possible to receive every item in one night with a single player. A total of thirteen items can be obtained from Jingle on December 24: the ten furniture items from the Jingle Series, the Jingle Wall, Jingle Floor, and Jingle Shirt.
If the player received at least one item from Jingle on December 24 and played when the clock hit midnight, Jingle will send them a letter reading “Happy Holidays. Here’s your present, straight from Jingle’s workshop!” and containing Balloon Fight.
In City Folk [ edit ]
In Animal Crossing: City Folk, Jingle will give the player gifts from the Jingle Series on Toy Day. He will ask the player some questions which determine what gift he will give. If the player answers “Things you step on!”, they will be given the Jingle Carpet. If the player answers “Things you lean on!”, they will be given the Jingle Wall. If the player answers “Huge things!”, they will be given some other furniture.
The player can change their accessory, headgear, or hairstyle so that Jingle may mistake them for another character, repeating the process. Unlike in Animal Crossing, changing shirts does not trick Jingle.
Sometimes, Jingle can be found in an empty villager’s home. This is the only time in the game that the player may enter villager’s homes when they are not inside.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ yearly Toy Day event is just around the corner. Both new and returning players can look forward to the festivities.
Every year, Animal Crossing: New Horizons celebrates Toy Day, and 2021 is no exception. This holiday is based on the gift-giving that occurs on Christmas and comes complete with the Animal Crossing equivalent of Santa’s helper, a black-nosed reindeer named Jingle. Toy Day has been included in every mainline Animal Crossing game since the series launched on the Nintendo 64 in Japan and GameCube worldwide.
Prior to New Horizons, Animal Crossing’s Toy Day celebrations were a lot more limited. In the original Animal Crossing, Jingle could be found on December 24 from 8 PM to 1 AM. In both City Folk and New Leaf, Jingle would appear from 6 PM until 12 AM. Starting with New Horizons, Animal Crossing‘s Santa Claus, Jingle, will visit a player’s island all day on December 24.
Toy Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will take place on December 24 no matter which hemisphere players are located in. Because the day “resets” at 5 AM in New Horizons, that means players can start their Toy Day festivities as early as 5 AM on December 24, and have until 4:59 AM the next day to finish up what they’d like to do. Day-long events in New Horizons are especially convenient for players to fit the game into their busy schedules as needed. Toy Day is also a great opportunity to exchange gifts with villagers, giving players a reason to attend even if they received all of Jingle’s unique items in 2020.
What To Do On Animal Crossing’s Toy Day This December 24
No matter what time players decide to start their Toy Day excursions in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the process remains the same: help Jingle deliver presents to the island’s resident villagers. Jingle will be in the plaza outside of Resident Services, and will first want players to make three Festive wrapping papers. Each one requires one of each ornament color, so players will need to shake cedar trees until they have three red ornaments, three blue ornaments, and three gold ornaments to craft them. Afterwards, Jingle will lend the player his magic bag until the end of the day. With the bag equipped, players can deliver presents to each villager and get additional Festive items from Jingle, including a sleigh, stockings, and DIY recipe for a pile of gifts.
There are also five new Festive DIY recipes added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the 2.0 free update. Players can find these recipes randomly in balloon present boxes or from their villagers when they’re crafting inside their homes. Players who want to make the most of Toy Day by giving their own toy presents to their fellow villagers after helping out Jingle can also take the opportunity to seek out anyone crafting in their house to pick up the newest recipes. The new Festive DIYs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons include a Giant Ornament, Ornament Tree, Ornament Garland, Ornament Table Lamp, and an Ornament Crown that can be worn.
Animal Crossing is a very popular franchise. These games allow you to create your own house with lots of decorations and furniture inside it. Also, there is a huge amount of different activities that allow you to earn new items. Animal Crossing New Horizon is one of the latest games that belong to this franchise. The developers provided players with special activities related to the winter holidays. This guide will give you more info about the new Toy Day event in Animal Crossing New Horizons.

When you talk to him he will give you a special recipe for the item called Festive Wrapping Paper. Jingle will ask you to craft three of these items and give them to him. After that, he will reward you with Magic Sack.
Magic Sack in Animal Crossing New Horizons is a special piece of equipment that allows you to participate in Toy Day activities. Just put it on your character and talk with your villagers. “ Happy holidays! I’m Jingle, the black-nosed reindeer! ”
― Jingle, Animal Crossing
In Animal Crossing, Jingle can be found wandering around town starting at 8:00 PM on Toy Day (December 24 th ). He needs to be approached on five separate occasions to receive an item of his series (talking to him more than once on the same encounter does not work), also asking questions to determine what item the player receives such as flooring, wallpaper and furniture all from the Jingle Series (answering “Foldable Things” gets you the Jingle Shirt, Woven Things gets the player the Jingle carpet, Printed things gets the player Jingle Wallpaper, and Big Things gets the player Jingle furniture). He only gives out one present per villager, but there is a way to receive more as listed below:
To receive more presents from Jingle, the player must change their shirt each time they receive a gift, out of Jingle’s sight so he does not see them. If successful, he will assume the player is a different person. The player only needs to talk to him twice (once to determine the gift, and another time to receive it). However, doing this for long enough will make him realize the player is the same person. Fortunately, he will not ask for the furniture back and will simply laugh.
For the list of his conversations, see Jingle Dialogue (GCN).
Talking to Jingle outside
In City Folk
“ I’m a happy little reindeer! ”
Jingle will only go into houses when the occupants are outside
In City Folk, Jingle can be found wandering around town starting at 8 PM on Toy Day (December 24). During this time, he may also be found inside other villagers houses, but only in the ones with their lights off (which indicates that the villager is not inside). This is the only time in the game the player can visit a villager’s house without them inside. In one of the homes, Jingle will be inside dropping off presents. Upon talking to him, he will offer the player a present, either one they can lean on or one they can walk on, with further options of huge things. These simply respectively mean wallpaper (lean on), carpet (walk on) and furniture (huge things), specifically furniture from the Jingle Series. Sometimes he will claim he is too tired to give the player a gift. Like in Animal Crossing, he will only give one present per person, but there is a way to obtain more furniture, as mentioned below:
To receive more presents from Jingle, the player only needs to change their face accessory or headgear (Hat) instead of a shirt to obtain more items of the Jingle Series.
In New Leaf
In New Leaf, instead of receiving presents, the player dresses up as Santa and hands out presents. The Santa outfit is sold in the month of December and is easy to obtain. The outfit includes the Santa hat, Santa shirt, Santa pants, Santa beard, and Santa boots. If the player finds Jingle on Toy Day, he will tell the player that the villagers would enjoy getting their presents from Santa and will give the player a magic sack full of items. After Christmas, the magic bag will turn into a regular bag. Throughout the month of December, villagers will drop hints on which gifts they want. It is the player’s job to give the villagers the perfect gift so that they can be happy. While dressed up like Santa, the villagers will recognize the player as Santa himself and not as the player. Once the bag is empty, the player must return to Jingle and he will give the player a Christmas wreath as a reward. If the player delivers at least seven presents correctly, Jingle will mail the player his photograph the next day. Unlike in older games, Jingle will not give the player the Jingle Series, and instead the player can buy the furniture from the Nooklings’ Store during the month of December.
In New Horizons
Jingle was confirmed to arrive to New Horizons in Animal Crossing update video, he requests the player for wrapping paper and gives them the recipe to do so, giving him three festive wrapping paper rewards you with Toy Day stockings. He then gives the player a magic bag and tells them to give every villager a gift. If you reward half of the villagers with gifts you get the recipe to the gift pile, however if you reward every villager a gift you get the Toy Day sleigh. If you put the Toy Day stockings in your home, and wait until the 25th, you’ll be rewarded with Jingle’s Photo in there.
Jingle gives a complete set of furniture, which the Happy Room Academy rate very highly.
- Jingle Wallpaper
- Jingle Carpet
- Jingle Shirt
- Jingle Dresser
- Jingle Piano
- Jingle Bed
- Jingle Table
- Jingle Chair
- Jingle Lamp
- Jingle Wardrobe
- Jingle Shelves
- Jingle Sofa
- Jingle Clock
All of the furniture is red, white, and green, resembling festive colors. The Jingle Shirt is not a part of the exchange in City Folk, but can be bought from the Able Sisters. It is like any other shirt, so once it is available it won’t appear again for a while.
Animal Crossing’s famous Toy Day comes to New Horizons. What’s different? What does Jingle want? Why does everyone suddenly need you to build things?
Today, December 24, is Toy Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. If you’ve never played Animal Crossing before, Toy Day is the game’s non-denominational (yet clearly Christmas-inspired) one day holiday. Now, in the age of the internet you can only access this event today and today only. Setting your system to this date any other time will just give you a cold day on the island.

If you haven’t yet tired of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, this wholesome game is offering a way for players to celebrate the holiday season in-game.
The title has been particularly influential during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as friends gather and celebrate milestones on their islands. With travel restrictions continuing through the end of the year, Toy Day is a way to still celebrate, even if you can’t go home.
We’ve got a gift guide and everything you need to know about the event.
‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ gift guide details:
One of the crucial parts of quickly building a friendship with your villagers is giving them gifts. While you can give them just about anything in your inventory, there are certain villagers who react better to certain items, increasing your friendship with them quicker.
During the Toy Day event, villagers will also provide hints as to what kind of gift they’re hoping to receive for the holiday, which will also likely increase your friendship with that villager faster.
If you look at the Fandom Wiki for Animal Crossing, you’ll notice that each villager has a different style to classify their wardrobe and home decorations. These classifications can help you pick out specific gifts to give the villagers on your island, which will increase your friendship with them easier.
That being said, for the Toy Day event, you don’t have to follow any sort of guide at all! So long as you give all of your villagers a gift, you’ll retrieve all of the Toy Day items and DIYs.
Your guide to Toy Day in ‘ACNH’:
Toy Day takes place on Dec. 24, whether you’re in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere. You’ll know it’s Toy Day when Isabelle opens the morning announcements wearing a Santa hat.
To start the Toy Day festivities, you’ll want to visit Jingle, who will be standing outside of Resident Services. The reindeer will then ask you if you can help him and give you the recipe for Festive Wrapping Paper. You’ll have to craft three, each of which requires one red, yellow, and blue ornament.
Once you craft three of the Festive Wrapping Paper, you’ll then receive the Magic Sack (which will be used to deliver presents) and Toy Day Stockings (which you can hang up in your home).
With the Magic Sack equipped (and ideally while wearing one of the Santa Claus outfits), you can go around and deliver gifts to all of the villagers on your island. You’ll be rewarded with the Gift Pile DIY after delivering to half of your villagers and the Toy Day Sleigh after delivering to everyone.
While you can stop delivering presents once your magic sack is empty, if you want to receive Toy Day gifts from villagers, you’ll have to go around a second time and gift them new gifts personally. These can either be any of the Toy Day special items that have been available in Nook’s Cranny throughout the month, or any other item you wish to gift them.
Make sure to hang the Toy Day Stockings in your home, because you’ll find a special photo of Jingle in them on Dec. 25!
Looking for a safe way to spend time with friends over the holidays? Animal Crossing: New Horizons may be just what you need.
It’s not always easy to visit friends and family over the holidays whether it’s because of a ranging pandemic or simple distance that keeps people apart. Animal Crossing has been a great stress reliever and distance breaker for many people and if you thought Halloween on your island was a blast, the developers haven’t forgotten about Christmas.
With the recent November update comes preparations for Toy Day and Turkey Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons where you can participate in Christmas and Thanksgiving with villagers and long-distance internet friends.
10 Secret Santa
You and your friends can participate in creating your very own secret Santa’s. Many fans have already started doing this, pre-wrapping gifts and checking off wish list items their friends have posted. Secret Santa is an event we all took part in when we were kids and when adult life gets stressful and situations keep us apart, sharing rare items through Animal Crossing is almost better than the Christmas gifts we receive in real life.
9 Wrapping Presents
Whether it’s for friends or not, all can take part in wrapping the many planned gifts just sitting in our basements. What may seem like a small and tedious task can be made fruitful by playing some holiday music and chatting with your friends as you wrap presents for villagers and other friends. Change the wallpaper in that one room you’re unsure about, take out the toys, and get to wrapping.
8 Build Snowmen
With the new winter season comes the falling of snow. This means snowballs can be rolled, guided, and build up into special snowmen. In the previous Animal Crossing games, creating specifically large or small snowmen brought to life a family of snow-people who gives the player special winter items. In New Horizons we can expect a snowman or two and see our islands change character once more.
7 Decorate Together
Along with snow this coming month, is new furniture. Each season has a dedicated series of furniture to it. Autumn’s is the Mushroom and Maple series, now we will see the Ice and Thanksgiving series soon enough. Decorating your island, main hub, or town square brings the holiday spirit even more and your villagers will thank you for it.
Fans feel cheated by the lack of a variety for furniture items in New Horizons compared to New Leaf or Pocket Camp. We need only wait (or time travel) to experience new and improved pieces to add to our collection.
6 Open Presents
Nothing brings more joy than opening presents hoping it’s that sweet, expensive thing you asked for or seeing the look on your friends’ faces when they open theirs! Whether friends can make it on the exact day of Christmas or not, you can always plan a special day to open presents and experience that moment in-game. You can even do it early Christmas day as a warm-up for your real presents!
5 Dress Up
There will be many adorable, fluffy sweaters and coats to wear this winter. Snow is fast approaching and cozy sweaters can already be found dropping from balloons. There’s no doubt that there will be Mr. and Mrs. Claus attire to collect and make your villagers wear all week or month long.
4 Help Friends Prepare
Because balloon drops and bottle DIYs are all based on RNG it can be frustrating and hard to get every piece of holiday furniture you want before the actual big day approaches. Help your friends collect them all!
Some people find seasonal furniture faster than others by sheer luck and with extra DIY’s you can give your friends some or craft the furniture for them so that they can decorate their island as well.
3 Villager Secret Santa
Friends aren’t the only ones who could use some presents. Think about all the Sherb’s and Stitches’ waiting for Santa to answer their letter. You and your friends can randomly pick gifts for each other’s villagers and see what turns up. You can also help your friends make the deliveries themselves.
2 Send Chocolates Leading Up To Xmas
While there aren’t really chocolate food items in the game to eat, you can send friends tiny gifts each day of December until the faithful day itself as if it were a chocolate calendar. It’s the thought that counts. There are many chocolate custom designs and food items to send their way. If not food, any useful material is a cute reminder that someone cares and is just as excited for Toy Day as you.
1 Download Custom Designs
The artists of the Animal Crossing fan base never sleep. They are always quick to set up all the useful designs people will be craving and using for their islands. From fake ice rinks to custom winter coats, there are lots of choices on the internet to fit your aesthetic and desires. It’s as easy as searching “ACNH QR codes” or “custom designs” on either Tumblr, Twitter, or Reddit to easily find what the community has to offer.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is celebrating Christmas with the Toy Day event guide happening on December 24th! This gift-giving holiday comes with Animal Crossing’s previous Winter update (full details here). And it will include exclusive rewards and recipes that will make your island shine with seasonal cheer!
Toy Day starts December 24th, 2020 at 5 AM and runs for a full 24 hours until 5 AM the next day on December 25th. So for some of you reading this guide your event is already live! And for others, this is a good read in preparation for the upcoming event. Note that this date and time is the same regardless of whether your island is in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere. For new players, you’ll need an upgraded Resident Services with Isabelle to be unlocked to fully experience the entire event.
So keep on reading to find out everything you can get and what you’ll need to do on Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘ Toy Day event.
Meet Jingle On Toy Day!
Toy Day kicks off with a visit from Jingle the black-nosed reindeer to your island. Find him hanging out at the plaza and he’ll tell you all about his job helping Santa deliver presents on the island. Surprise, surprise he’s enlisting you to help him do that.
The first thing you’ll need to do as part of Santa’s helpers is to make three pieces of Festive Wrapping Paper. A recipe that Jingle will teach you, requiring one red, blue and gold ornament.
If you don’t have any Christmas ornaments on hand already make sure to head over to one of your island’s decorated Christmas pine trees. Simply shake them and ornaments will start to fall around them.
Deliver Presents To Your Villagers
Once you’ve given Jingle 3 of the Festive Wrapping Paper needed, he will give you the exclusive Toy Day Stockings furniture and the special Magic Bag item containing presents for all of your villagers.
Inside of the Magic Bag, you’ll find enough presents for each of your island’s residents. Deliver the presents by equipping the Magic Bag and talk to a villager to hand them their present! It’s that easy!
You can check inside the bag to find out how many gifts are left. If there are less than three villagers that need presents, the bag will tell you who the villagers are. This is very helpful if you lose track of who has a gift or not!
Deliver gifts to all your island residents to earn you the Gift Pile DIY Recipe and the Toy Day Sleigh.
Give More Gifts To Your Villagers!
Once the Magic Bag is empty, you can exchange your own wrapped Toy Day gift with your villagers. Pick out what gift to give each of your villagers, just like you would on a normal day. But just remember to wrap it!
Exchanging wrapped gifts will net you items from the holiday toy set that’s been on sale at Nook’s Cranny this month. This will include colour variations that may not have been available in Nook’s Cranny during the first weeks of December.
Toy Day Item Rewards
In addition to giving your villagers presents from Santa there are also rewards for you to earn as well! Toy Day features 5 different item rewards this year.
Festive Wrapping Paper
Just speaking to Jingle, in the beginning, will gift you with the DIY for the Festive Wrapping Paper.
Toy Day Stockings
After crafting enough paper and giving it to him, Jingle will share the Toy Day Stockings furniture item with you.
Gift Pile DIY Recipe
If you delivered gifts from Santa to more than half of the residents of your island, you’ll get the Gift Pile DIY recipe. It requires 3 red wrapping paper, 1 wooden-block toy and1 cardboard box to craft.
Toy Day Sleigh
If you delivered gifts to every villager on your island, you will receive the Toy Day Sleigh furniture.
Finally, you can get Jingle’s Photo by hanging up the Toy Day Stockings on the wall in your house. Then on the next day, December 25th, interact with the stockings on your wall to find Jingle’s Photo waiting for you inside!
You can only find Jingle’s Photo inside of the Toy Day Stockings on December 25th and not on later days. So don’t forget to do this!

More about Animal Crossing
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a popular game which was released in the month of March 2020. The game is the new addition to Nintendo’s game and life simulator series in which players develop a town on a deserted island. The release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons was announced in September 2018 but it took around 2 years to get its release date.
It was released on March 20, 2020, and it managed to become the first console game to reach five million digital sales within a month. The players have been loving the game and it also became one of the few in the Animal Crossing franchise to get an additional content post-launch. The fans have also been waiting for other updates for the game Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
When is it, what to do, and how to get all items.
It’s December both in the real world and the much better world of Animal Crossing. Which means it’s the holiday season everywhere you go. For the villagers on your island the special day comes a bit earlier than our own Christmas, and goes by a different name. Toy Day is almost here and everyone is excited. But what is this special event and how do you get all the items and rewards? Here’s our Animal Crossing: New Horizons Toy Day guide.
When does Toy Day Start and End
Toy Day, as the name implies, is an all day event. This means it will begin at 5am and end the next day at 5am. You might expect an event like Toy Day to take place on Christmas, but of course everyone will likely be busy then, hopefully while remaining safe and healthy so it comes a bit sooner. So expect your Animal Crossing: New Horizons Toy Day event to begin on Thursday, December 24th at 5am and run until Friday, December 25th at 5am. But what will you be doing during those hours?
How to Start Toy Day and What to do
Toy Day begins with the arrival of Jingle, the friendly reindeer who walks around wearing a Santa outfit. Speak with him to start things off. Just like Christmas, the whole event revolves around gift giving. To kick off the festivities just head to Resident Services to find Jingle and speak with him.
After talking to him you will receive the DIY Recipe for the Festive Wrapping Paper. This simply requires a red, blue, and gold ornament to craft so go shake some colorful trees if you need more. Once you craft three of them and give them to Jingle he will give you his magic bag, full of presents for all of your Animal Crossing: New Horizons villagers. Now it’s your job to be Santa…I mean Jingle and go around spreading the Toy Day fun.
How to Give Villagers their Toy Day Gifts
To experience the rest of what Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Toy Day has to offer you just need to go into your inventory and equip Jingle’s bag. Then just start heading around to your villagers to give them their gift. In previous games you had to put more work into this, figuring out clues and giving them the perfect present. Things are simpler for Animal Crossing: New Horizons though, so you just have to speak to them and choose the options to give them their present.
Each time you do this you won’t necessarily get any reward, but there are Toy Day items and rewards you’ll want to be sure you get before the event is over. You can read more about that below, but just know that the goal is to give every villager their Toy Day gift, so make sure you do that before the day is over. If you want more specifics then see how to get all Toy Day items below.
All Toy Day Items and How to Get Them
Here’s all the items and rewards you can get through the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Toy Day event and how to get them.
- Festive Wrapping Paper – Speak with Jingle
- Toy Day Stockings – Give three Festive Wrapping Paper to Jingle
- Gift Pile DIY Recipe – Deliver gifts to half your villagers
- Toy Day Sleigh – Deliver gifts to all your villagers
- Jingle’s photo – Hang your Toy Day Stockings in your house then speak to Jingle
So that’s all the items for Toy Day and how to get them in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The only other activity you can enjoy during the event is exchanging random gifts with your villagers. To do this just use wrapping paper on any item and exchange it with a villager. They will then give you a random item from the Christmas Toys set, which has been the featured seasonal set in Nook’s Cranny as of late.
So that’s our Animal Crossing: New Horizons Toy Day guide. We hope it helps you enjoy the event more and have a great and safe holiday season.
On Nov. 19, a free update will arrive for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, introducing holiday events and enhancements, expanding opportunities to connect with friends and family and enjoy island life together with your Animal Crossing: New Horizons residents.
Mark your calendars for Turkey Day on Nov. 26 and Toy Day on Dec. 24, delivering holiday events that can be experienced with others. The winter update also brings new Reactions and hairstyles to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, an upgrade option for expanded in-game home item storage, and long-awaited save data transfer capabilities.
“We’d like to invite everyone to experience the holidays together with family and friends in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, along with your island residents bringing their unique seasonal cheer,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. “We’re eager for everyone to discover all the changes arriving to your islands during this holiday season.”
The following features can all be enjoyed regardless of which hemisphere your Animal Crossing: New Horizons island is located in, beginning Nov. 19:
- Turkey Day – On Turkey Day, which will take place this year on Nov. 26, the first-class chef Franklin will arrive and host a gathering in the plaza. You can help Franklin collect ingredients to go in the dishes that will be on display in the plaza. You can even receive a gift from Franklin as a thank you for helping him cook.
- Toy Day – It’s the time of the year when island residents rejoice … The month of Toy Day is nearly at hand! You might notice your island and plaza gradually becoming more festive with holiday-themed decorations over the coming weeks. Keep an eye out for decorated trees, too. Shaking these may drop ornaments which will allow you to craft holiday furniture recipes. From Dec. 1 to Dec. 25, you’ll be able to purchase toys from Nook’s Cranny and find holiday-themed clothing at the Able Sisters shop. When it’s officially Toy Day on Dec. 24, Jingle will pay a special visit to your island to spread holiday cheer. If you help him deliver presents, you’ll also receive a gift!
- Reactions andHairstyles – Nine new Reactions will be available with this update, which can be obtained by redeeming Nook Miles at the Nook Stop terminal located in Resident Services. Six new hairstyle options can also be acquired by redeeming Nook Miles, so get ready to express yourself and let your personality shine!
- Home Storage Upgrade – If you’ve expanded your in-game home to its largest size and paid off your debt, you’ll now be able to apply for a home storage expansion by speaking to Tom Nook at Resident Services. Congrats on achieving the next level of home ownership. This will expand your home storage to 2400 slots. Think of all the items you can now store and access from the comfort of your island home!
- Visit Random Islands in Dreams – Have you enjoyed dozing off and visiting other islands within dreams? Now you’ll be able to choose to visit random islands while dreaming, opening up new vistas of inspiration for your own island customizations.
- Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Collaboration – To commemorate Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp’s third anniversary, a Pocket Camp smartphone model will become available in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. To receive this smartphone model, you’ll need to link both the Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp app and Animal Crossing: New Horizons to your Nintendo account. For more information, visit https://ac-pocketcamp.com/en-US/horizons.
- Island and Resident Data Transfers – Two new features are arriving to offer expanded flexibility for your island and resident data. The whole island transfer feature will enable you to move your user save data, along with the island itself and all the residents, to another system. This service will be facilitated by the free Island Transfer Tool app in Nintendo eShop. For players who are not the island’s Resident Representative, a single-player transfer feature allows you to transfer resident data to another system. This includes your resident’s name, appearance and equipment, along with your inventory, home and storage. Additional details about the benefits and limitations of these new data transfer services can be found at https://animal-crossing.com/new-horizons/#transfer.
- Seasonal Items to Celebrate New Year’s Eve – New seasonal items will be available starting Dec. 1 at Nook Stop. Between Dec. 26 and Dec. 31, there will also be several festive items to commemorate New Year’s Eve. In addition to the update content, you can look forward to a countdown event starting at 7 p.m. on Dec. 31.
You can try the Nintendo Switch Online service free for a week. One month costs $3.99, three months cost $7.99 and a year costs $19.99 — but the best value is a family plan that costs $34.99 a year and accommodates eight people with free Nintendo Accounts. If you want to play Switch game online (Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, etc.), you’ll need to sign on with this service anyway.
Your Island Friendships with Villagers
This page provides information on how to improve friendships by gifting villagers, as well as advice on what type of gifts to give.
Before you can start giving villagers gifts, you’ll need to reach level 2 on the friendship scale. You can reach level 2 easily by talking to your villager everyday for a short period of time. For more information on the friendship levels, head over to the How to Increase Friendships page.
The best gifts to give your villagers is furniture. Gifting them expensive bugs and fish, as well as clothing and accessories is also good, but furniture is your safest and easiest option. You should also make the effort to wrap the gifts, as this will give you extra bonus points. It will speed up the friendship process and is a great way of levelling up your friendship levels. You can buy wrapping paper from Nook’s Cranny, and it comes in lots of different colors and patterns.
Giving gifts increases friendship levels.
Don’t gift your villagers trash or rotten turnips as this is considered rude and will negatively impact friendship levels!
When you gift villagers, they’ll display whatever you gift them in their homes. Be aware of this if you plan on gifting them lots of random furniture pieces as it could make their house look a bit messy. They will also rarely wear gifted clothing, and most of the time it’ll be displayed in their home.

A heartwarming sight to see
It’s Friday, and we’re about to head into another weekend. As the news machine winds on down and many of us settle in for a cozy weekend of Happy Home planning in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, I wanted to share this sweet little thread that I’ve been following on the ACNH subreddit all day long, where users have been gifting each other the Animal Crossing DLC.
It all started with user MoopDaDoop, who had picked up the Happy Home Paradise DLC and was enjoying it. They had an extra $35 card for the Nintendo eShop, and decided to gift it to someone who wasn’t able to pick the DLC up yet for money reasons.
Another user chimed in to say they weren’t able to afford it, and MoopDaDoop sent it on over. It was a nice little donation, with lots of users commenting about what a sweet thing it was to do for someone else.
And soon, others were following MoopDaDoop’s lead. Throughout the day, other users have been offering to buy the Animal Crossing DLC for anyone who can’t afford it. To be clear, it’s not for anyone who’s on the fence, or just wants a free copy; just folks who have had tough times, maybe some extra bills or they’ve been squeezed for rent.
It’s been a neat thread to follow throughout the day. As so many Animal Crossing fans have been sharing what they’ve been doing with the new camera options and cool, sometimes spooky décor, other users are contributing some of their good fortune for others down on theirs. (Also, if you see this and think about sliding in when you know darn well you can afford the DLC: don’t screw this up, you dinguses.)
Anyways, that’s the energy I’ll send y’all out on the weekend with. Put good back out there into the world, and have fun planning out all those houses for vacation-seeking villagers.
Now that the holiday season is approaching, it’s the perfect time to provide Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans with gifts inspired by the game.
The holiday season is fast approaching, which means it’s a great time to start looking into gifts for Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans. Fortunately, there’s plenty of official merchandise to browse through this year, sold both through the official Nintendo Character Shop and licensed partners online. From sweatshirts and backpacks to pins and plushies, there is a wide range of options to pick between in an equally broad price range. Here are some of the best Animal Crossing-inspired gifts for the 2021 holidays.
- Battlefield 2042 Is The Franchise’s Worst Release Ever
- How old is Piper Rockelle in 2022? What we know about the social media star
- Shin Megami Tensei 5: Where To Find All Punishing Foes Guide
Animal Crossing: New Horizons saw something of a revival recently thanks to the massive Animal Crossing 2.0 update, which almost entirely refreshed the game by adding in new characters, locations, and even gameplay mechanics. This came as a welcome change to longtime players, many of whom were discouraged by the lack of significant content updates over the past year. Alongside the free 2.0 update came the game’s first paid DLC, Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise, which puts players into the role of a dream vacation home designer. So much new content at once helped to renew interest in the game, and more than likely even brought new Animal Crossing fans into the fold just in time for the holidays.
From a K.K. Slider plush to the Animal Crossing manga, there are lots of great options for Animal Crossing gifts.
Now is a very good time to be an Animal Crossing fan. The biggest game in the series just got a giant update, there’s loads of people available to play the game with and there’s tons of great tie-in products that allow you to enjoy Tom Nook’s empire offline, Animal Crossing fans are in a golden age. As we get closer and closer to lots of festive events and holidays, including the in-game Toy Day event on December 24th, you’re probably starting to ask yourself what you’re going to get for the Animal Crossing-obsessed people in your life. Luckily, we’ve found the finest gifts for a very Nook holiday season.
We’re truly into the holiday season now, so you don’t want to take too long before you start buying your presents. Before you know it, you’ll be confusedly coming to the realisation that it’s the 24th of December and not the 6th of June anymore. We get that it’s stressful, but that’s why we’re here with our Animal Crossing gift ideas.
We’ve gone for variety here, with a selection of products that will appeal to fans of all ages. Expect to find an assortment of Animal Crossing plushies, clothes and even manga. They’re all very cool and would be welcome additions to any collection.
Our top Animal Crossing gift ideas are:
Isabelle is one of the most iconic Animal Crossing character and, at this point in time, she could well be considered the mascot of the series. It’s easy to see why, too. Her friendly face has been welcoming us to our games since 2012. This adorable Isabelle plush will appeal to kids and adults alike. Sure Animal Crossing: New Horizons may have comforted us as the world fell apart outside, but we couldn’t hug it, could we? But now, you can hug the Isabelle plush.
K.K. Slider plush
Isabelle isn’t the only Animal Crossing character you can buy in plush form. In fact, we could probably fill an entire article talking about all the different Animal Crossing plushies, but… we won’t. A lot of fans probably remember the days before Isabelle was even introduced to the series and for them, K.K. probably better fills the role of Animal Crossing mascot (because it’s not going to be that dirty capitalist, Tom Nook, is it? I bet his carbon footprint is massive). This cute K.K. plush even comes with a guitar, which is probably for the best, because he looks kind of naked without it. In fact, he literally is naked without it.
If you’re not looking to fill your home with soft toy villagers, maybe amiibo are more your sort of thing. (Remember when we said we could write a whole article on Animal Crossing plushies? Well we really did write one about all the Animal Crossing amiibo.) If you’re shopping for someone who’s just starting their amiibo collection, the Isabelle amiibo would be a good place to start. This one was made to tie in with her appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and is the latest Animal Crossing figure to be released at this time. Not only does she look great, but you can scan her in several games to get neat little pieces of extra content.
Animal Crossing manga
Want more out of the Animal Crossing universe than New Horizons can give you? Well, you may be pleased to hear that there’s also an Animal Crossing manga series. Written by Kokonasu Rumba, it’s a very comedic series which is sure to appeal to Animal Crossing fans. Plus, if you’re a parent whose kids play Animal Crossing all day and you wish that they’d read more, this could be the perfect incentive.
Animal Crossing T-shirt
Animal Crossing is loads of fun, but sadly, we have to stop playing and go out into the world sometimes. We have to go to work, we have to go to school, we have to stand in ridiculous lines at the bank and post office. With this stylish Animal Crossing shirt, you can carry a bit of your favourite game with you wherever you go. This shirt is available in men’s, women’s and children’s sizes with tons of colour variations too.
Animal Crossing Collector’s Box
The Animal Crossing Collector’s Box contains a number of Animal Crossing related goodies. It includes:
- A Timmy & Tommy glass
- A Nook Inc. Blu-Tooth speaker.
- An Animal Crossing coaster set.
- A Tom Nook baseball cap.
- An Animal Crossing ice cube tray.
- An Animal Crossing journal.
- Animal Crossing socks.
These are all exclusive items and together, they’d make a really nice set for anybody who’s hoping that Jingle will bring them some great Animal Crossing presents this year. Unfortunately, the collector’s box is not currently available in the UK.
Animal Crossing socks
Did you see Animal Crossing socks on the list of things in the Animal Crossing Collector’s Box and then feel sad that you had to buy the box and get all the other stuff, even though you only wanted the socks? Well, good news, you can buy Animal Crossing socks individually. They may not be the same pair as the ones in the Collector’s Box, but golly, they still look good. What a neat feet treat. Though these particular Animal Crossing socks are not available in the UK, they do have other designs available.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
“What in the name of sanity, and all that is holy, is a Mario Kart game doing in this Animal Crossing article? This lousy, good-for-nothing, hack writer is just trying to cram any old garbage in without any thought or reason. I haven’t been so morally offended by something since 1993. Why, I ought-” Let me stop you right there. Animal Crossing fans who have never tried the Mario Kart series might really enjoy this game, not just because it’s one of the best games on the Switch, but also because Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has its fair share of Animal Crossing content, including Isabelle and multiple Villagers as playable characters and even an Animal Crossing race track with four seasonal variations. It’s actually one of the best tracks in the game and a beautiful tribute to the series.
So those are our choices for Animal Crossing gift ideas. We hope that this makes this year’s holiday season shopping just a little bit easier for you!

For those wondering “Why can’t I give gifts to villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?”, this guide has all the answers. Sometimes the game won’t let players give presents to animal villagers, which can be a pain when looking to become best friends and get those coveted villager photos. Thankfully, this Game Revolution guide provides the need-to-know information on why players can’t always give presents to their AC:NH villagers.
Why you can’t give gifts to villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
Giving gifts to villagers is a great way to boost a relationship, eventually leading to becoming best friends. Once a player is best friends with a villager, they are able to get that villager’s photo, which is one of the most sought-after items in the game. Since giving gifts provides such a big boost to friendships, it can be annoying to find the “Give a gift” option missing from the chat selection menu.
Players can’t give gifts to villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons for a number of reasons:
- The villager has already received a gift.
- Each day, players can give their villagers a gift each.
- Once a villager has received a present, they won’t accept another until the following day.
- The villager is taking part in a special event.
- On days where there is a special event, like a fishing tournament, villagers’ dialogue will be focused around discussing the event.
- The villager is blocked from doing a “Receive gift” animation.
- If a villager isn’t standing, they will be unable to accept a gift.
- Players will need to wait until a villager is standing and then interact with them to offer a gift.
- The player isn’t good enough friends with the villager.
- It takes a few days from their arrival for a villager to begin accepting gifts from the player. Talk with them each day until the option becomes available.
- Alternatively, villagers can stop having the “Give a gift” dialogue option if the player has ignored them for a long time.
Best gifts for villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Knowing the best gifts for villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is key to maximizing the impact of presents. Give a villager a present that they love to benefit from a big friendship bonus. If you don’t want to keep track of each villager’s personal tastes, there are some gifts that all villagers like.
Best gifts for all villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Iron Wall Lamp
- Combining clay and iron to make an Iron Wall Lamp is a great way of boosting friendships with all types of villagers.
- Most villagers won’t use the Iron Wall Lamp in their homes.
- Identified fossils
- Though they become useless to Blathers, identified fossils make for one of the best gifts for all villagers.
- Identified fossils will not be used in villagers’ homes.
- Foreign fruit
- Bundles of foreign fruits that aren’t native to the player island are also great gifts.
Be sure to wrap gifts in wrapping paper before giving them to villagers in order to gain bonus friendship points. You can get wrapping paper by going to the store cupboard in Nook’s Cranny.
Though players can now give candy to their villagers, waiting until Halloween (October 31) will maximize the rewards. Read up on the recent Animal Crossing: New Horizons update to learn more about pumpkin farming, candy, and Jack.
For players who are still in a giving mood after treating villagers to Iron Wall Lamps, fossils, and/or fruit, Franklin and Jingle’s imminent arrival means more opportunities to give gifts are just around the corner.

In Dodo Airlines’in-game mail system, you can use special winter postcards to send your relatives and friends your gifts and blessings. From December 1st to 25th, you can buy winter-themed decorative toys and gifts at the Resident Service Plaza on the island. Collect the special decorations that the decorative trees on the island will drop, and capture the various snowflakes accumulated on the island to get winter-themed recipes, such as Christmas themes. In the Nook Cranny store, you need to choose colors for Toy Day items, and remember to return them regularly to collect all the items. Choose the wrapping paper in the cabinet, and send the wrapped toys and gifts to friends and family on your list.
Different styles and quantities of packaging paper cost different Bells. Choose the right packaging paper and send it to the right person. The X button on the Joy-Con controller can open the inventory, then select the wrapping paper and corresponding items, and click the package button. Finally, you need to visit Orville at the airport, first make sure that your network can connect to the postcard rack on the right side of his desk, and then you need to spend 200 bells. First, click the Send One button from the Orville menu, and then select a friend from the list. Customize and select your favorite postcards in December, enter what you want to say, the plus button can preview, and the minus button can cancel sending. Finally, click the icon like a gift and select the items you want to attach. After you click OK, your friend will receive your blessings in his mailbox the next day.
Before that, remember to complete the Dodo Airlines Airport tutorial, build your island, and invite your friends. A temporary five-character Dodo code can help you invite players who are not on your Nintendo Switch friends list. Although they can’t cut down your trees and can only take the fruits that fall from the fruit trees from your island, they should be happy to accept your blessing. If your bells are not enough for you to bless all your friends, click to Buy ACNH Bells.

If you’re wondering how much time you have left to send gifts this holiday season, here are the latest estimates from major retailers and shipping companies.
Like last year, the COVID-19 pandemic has severely disrupted the supply chain as well as package deliveries. And many consumers started their holiday shopping extra-early, putting even more pressure on companies struggling to get packages delivered on time.
According to Deloitte’s 2021 holiday retail survey, 39 percent of shoppers are buying gifts early, with 62 percent saying they’ll shop online. All this means that retailers and shipping companies will have their hands full.
Some companies are still formulating their delivery schedules, so we’ll update this article as soon as we have new information. You can bookmark this article and check back later.
To make sure your gifts arrive on time, review the retailer’s expected delivery windows before you make your purchase. If standard delivery won’t work, some stores offer expedited shipping options for a fee.
Go to Consumer Reports’ Holiday Gift Guide for updates on deals, expert product reviews, insider shopping tips, and much more.
Sending gifts yourself? The U.S. Postal Service, FedEx, and UPS websites provide estimates of shipping costs and delivery dates.
You can also sign up for services such as the Postal Service Informed Delivery, FedEx Delivery Manager, and UPS My Choice, which track your shipments and may even allow you to redirect a delivery if you send a package to the wrong address. (Informed Delivery isn’t available in all areas.)
Running late? Be aware that some carriers such as FedEx are guaranteeing last-minute deliveries (even, in some cases, as late as Christmas Day), but this may carry restrictions and extra fees.
Given the uncertainty of service this year, it may be wise not to cut it too close and send your gifts well in advance of these deadlines.

Shipping deadlines for items purchased from Amazon can vary depending on the product selected. You should check the delivery window closely before completing your purchase to see whether it will arrive in time. However, Amazon is among the major retailers who have invested greatly in their own delivery capabilities post-pandemic to ensure that its products arrive before Dec. 25.
“Customers can shop now to take advantage of incredible deals and discounts across every category and beat the holiday hustle,” Amazon spokeswoman Robin Handley told Consumer Reports. “But whether they choose to shop now or later, we will deliver to customers right up through Dec. 24.”
For more information about Amazon holiday shipping, delivery, pickups, and returns, check the company’s Holiday 2021 page.
You’ll find similar ordering and holiday gift-shipping deadline information for most major retailers online. Some examples:
Best Buy offers free next-day shipping on “thousands of items” available on its website, including major appliances and large TVs (51 inches and larger). The $35 minimum order amount is waived for members of its My Best Buy Elite and Elite Plus member programs.
Shoppers also have a 1-hour in-store pickup option for online orders. And some locations have contactless curbside pickup so that customers don’t even have to get out of their car.
See Best Buy’s shipping costs and timing page for more information regarding limitations and exceptions.
The chain offers free two-day shipping on “thousands of in-demand home improvement items,” as well as free in-store pickup. See Home Depot’s online ordering and shipping page for information about exclusions and limitations.
The home improvement store also offers same-day and next-day deliveries of certain items. Again, check Home Depot’s Delivery Services page for costs and other limitations.
Target offers free same-day delivery on orders of at least $35 if new online shoppers sign up for and use Shipt, a membership plan that’s free for the first four weeks. (The annual membership cost after the trial period is $99 for unlimited orders of $35 and more. Or members can pay a delivery charge for same-day delivery.) However, the retailer says that this year, “due to high demand, some items have extended delivery dates.”
Target also offers online shoppers in-store and curbside pickup.
In select markets, the mass retailer offers free next-day delivery on eligible online orders over $35. (A $6 fee applies to orders that don’t meet requirements.)
To prepare for the holidays, you can send gifts or even special winter-themed postcards to friends and family Animal Crossing: New Horizons. And you can do it all through the in-game mail system at Dodo Airlines.
Toy Day Gifts
You can buy toys and other special gifts at Nook̵
The Toy Day items that appear in Nook’s Cranny come in a variety of color variations. As with most Christmas themed items, you can only pick up one specific color variation for each item from your very own Nook’s Cranny store, so be sure to check back regularly to collect them all.
Additionally, decorated trees around your island can drop special ornaments when you shake them. If you collect enough of these, you’ll also receive special Christmas themed DIY recipes in December.
As the snow slowly accumulates on your island, special snowflakes will also fall from the sky. Catching them with your net can help you collect even more winter-themed DIY recipes.
Send gifts through the mail
Send mail to residents in the Animal Crossing franchise has always been a big deal. Now you can even send personalized postcards to the people on your Nintendo Switch friend list.
Note: You need an internet connection to send in-game email to friends Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Starting December 1, you can visit Nook’s Cranny to pick up toys and gifts to send to your friends and family who are on your island or on your friends list. If you’re feeling extra fancy, you can also pick up some wrapping paper from Nook’s Cranny (it’s in the closet) and wrap your gift before sending it in.

A sheet of wrapping paper normally costs 160 Bells and a bundle of five costs 800, depending on the pattern.
To wrap a gift, open your inventory with the X button on your right Joy-Con controller and select the wrapping paper. Choose “Wrap” from the menu and then select the item in your inventory that you want to wrap. That’s all there is to it!
When you first visit Dodo airport, Orville will inform you about the postal services it offers. To the right of his desk, you’ll see a rack of envelopes that you can send to friends for 200 Bells. Make sure you are connected to the internet and go to the card rack. Choose “Send One” from Orville’s menu to select a friend from your list.
You can send a ticket to an animal resident or another player on your island, your future self, or someone on your in-game friends list. After selecting a recipient, you can customize your postcard.
A range of Christmas-themed postcards are available from early December to early January. Make sure to pick up your favorites while you have the chance!
You can personalize your postcards by typing a personal message. If you send one to an animal that lives on your island, they might even respond!
After typing your message, press the plus sign (+) on your right Joy-Con controller to preview it. You can then choose to continue writing, save the message to send later, or cancel the sending of the card by pressing the minus sign (-) on your left Joy-Con controller.
After typing your message, you can add a gift. Click the icon that looks like a gift at the bottom right of the Nintendo Switch screen. Select the item you want to attach from your inventory, then select “OK” to send your postcard.
Your recipient will receive it in their mailbox the next day.
Don’t forget to jump in the game on Christmas Day to spot Jingle the Reindeer and take part in all of the festive activities! Hopefully the new toys will help get you in the holiday mood while you wait.
The Animal Crossing: New Horizons winter update is about to arrive, setting up some holiday events and adding some much-needed features to Nintendo’s massively successful life sim. The company previewed two upcoming holiday events in a video, Turkey Day and Toy Day — you won’t need the detective outfit to figure out what those relate to.
Turkey Day is Animal Crossing’s spin on Thanksgiving. On November 26th, a chef named Franklin (who is a turkey, appropriately enough) will drop by the plaza. You can help create a feast by collecting ingredients.
On December 24th, aka Toy Day, black-nosed reindeer Jingle will show up and you can help deliver gifts to excited residents. You’ll receive a gift of your own if you help Jingle out.
More and more holiday decorations will pop up on your island and plaza in the coming weeks. If you spot a decorated tree, shaking it might cause an ornament to fall out. You can use that to make holiday furniture. You’ll be able to buy toys and pick up holiday clothing from December 1st-25th.
The update adds more reactions and hairstyles, as well as the option to expand your home storage in case you need more space for all the stuff you keep buying. Perhaps most importantly, Nintendo will, at long last, let you transfer your Animal Crossing: New Horizons save data to another Switch with relative ease.
You’ll be able to download the winter update on November 19th. The next free update should arrive in late January.
