‘Tis the season to cuddle up with made-for-TV Christmas movies. Think of these predictable, but delightful, love stories as a gift to yourself. When it comes to movies that take place in small towns decked out in twinkly lights and Christmas trees, Lifetime has you covered.

This year’s slate of Lifetime holiday movies kicked off in October of 2020, and will continue through Christmas day. Among the 30 new movies premiering on Lifetime are a few major wins for representation.

The Christmas Setup, for example, makes history as Lifetime’s first gay holiday movie. A Sugar and Spice Holiday features an all-Asian cast. And in Christmas Ever After, Ali Stroker is one of the first actors with a disability to be featured in a holiday romance.

There’s a lot to watch, clearly. Individuals with cable subscriptions can access Lifetime and the Lifetime Movie Network, which exclusively airs movies, on TV, smart devices, or through the network’s website. However, there are ways to access Lifetime’s movie library without a cable subscription. Here’s how.

How to stream m*a*s*h without cable

You can watch the 2020 Lifetime Christmas movies through several different streaming services.

You can watch Lifetime movies through many popular streaming options available on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, or any other supported device. You can also use these subscriptions to sign in to the Lifetime website and watch movies from there.

  • SlingTV provides access to the Lifetime Network for $30 a month. For five dollars more, get access to the Lifetime Movie Network. Cloud DVR allows you to save the movies to watch later.
  • Philo offers Lifetime and the Lifetime Movie Network at a rate of $20 a month. With Philo, you can stream on up to three devices at the same time, and have access to DVR.
  • Hulu Live TV starts at $45 a month, and has 67 channels that can be streamed simultaneously, with up to 200 hours of storage.
  • Vidgo offers Lifetime as a part of their 60+ channel Core package, which costs $45 per month. The catch? No DVR.
  • Fubo TV is the priciest option, with its main plan running $64.99 for month. It offers nearly 120 channels, including Lifetime, well as 30 hours of DVR space.

Or, stream movies directly through the Lifetime Movie Club, without cable.

If you’re a Lifetime movie fanatic, the Lifetime Movie Club is your best bet. The subscription video service offers new and classic Lifetime movies—including the holiday fare—for the price of $3.99/month. You can start with a free trial if you’re still deciding. One heads up: The movie library may not always reflect the network’s most up-to-date offerings.

Netflix doesn’t carry Lifetime movies, but there’s a way to get them on Amazon Prime Video.

If all else fails, you can watch past Lifetime movies by purchasing or renting them on Amazon Prime Videos. Some recent movies available to stream include Christmas Ever After, Christmas Unwrapped, and Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding, starring Kelly Rowland.

If you’re a football fan who doesn’t want to miss a single touchdown, NFL RedZone is a must-have channel. But you don’t need a cable or satellite TV subscription to watch RedZone every Sunday.

Three of the best live TV streaming services are offering NFL RedZone for the 2020-2021 NFL regular season.

Sling TV

How to stream m*a*s*h without cable

Sling TV is the cheapest way to stream NFL RedZone to a TV set. In September 2020, the streaming TV service reached a deal to bring back NFL Network and NFL RedZone.

To get NFL RedZone for the lowest price, select Sling Blue and the Sports Extra add-on for a total of $40/month.

  • Sling Blue: $30/month
  • Sports Extra: $10/month

Unfortunately, Sling TV isn’t the best option if you want to watch NFL games across all of the networks that air them: CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN and NFL Network.

Sling Blue includes NFL Network, but you would need to add the Sling Orange plan to get ESPN. That increases the monthly price to $60.

  • Sling Orange + Blue: $45/month
  • Sports Extras: $15/month

With so many streaming services offering many of our favorite shows on-demand, the choice to cut the cord and cancel cable is becoming easier. However, one of the sticking points for many people is the thought they can’t watch news without cable due to the loss of the news channels that come with cable TV.

Great news: all the major news services like CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, CNBC and others are available to cord-cutters! Whether you’re a fan of Bill O’Reilly or Rachel Maddow, you can get your news fix without cable. Here are some inexpensive and even free options for viewing news media.

How to watch news without cable

It is true that in the past, leaving cable meant losing access to cable news. However, streaming services like Sling TV YouTube TV, Hulu Live and more now give you access to every cable news channel you may want, without the exorbitant cable bill.

Along with big names like Fox News and MSNBC, cord-cutters can now get even more news services, which they can access all hours of the day, every day of the week.

Let’s take a look at some of the cable news channels available on the different services.

Channel Sling TV
(Blue Package)
YouTube TV AT&T TV Now Hulu Live
Fox News
BBC World News

You’ll also be able to get local news stations on some of these services, plus additional channels depending on the package you choose. So for as low as $30 a month (Sling TV, the others are a bit more), you can get access to a ton of great cable news. The best part of these services is that they don’t have a contract. Do you want to get CNN or Fox News without cable, but only for the aftermath of the presidential election? You can do that with these services then cancel any time you want!

Xumo – This streaming service available via Roku, Amazon and Apple is great for those hoping to replicate the cable experience. It offers a list of channels, including CBS, NBC and ABC News Live. Thanks to ad support, it’s completely free.

Pluto TV – The same idea as Xumo. This one offers NBC News, Bloomberg and CNN (though the latter is mostly on-demand clips with the occasional live feed.

Sky News – Sometimes an international event happens and when it does, US news isn’t always the best place to look for coverage. Sky News is one of the leading news sources in the UK and does a great job of covering not only UK news but world news as well. They offer a 24/7 live stream for free in their apps for Roku and other streaming players.

Viewing local news without cable is even easier, once you don’t mind going retro. The first thing you should do is get an antenna if you don’t have one. If you have a high definition TV, you can even get an HDTV antenna. Check out our guide to antennas to help you get started.

Now you should have access to all your local ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC stations in great HD for free!

But what if you don’t get the channel you want with an antenna? We have even more good news! You can use a service called NewsOn to stream your local news station in many parts of the US. Just check out their website to find a station near you.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be the musical guest on SNL on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 11:30 p.m. Getty Images

“Saturday Night Live,” or “SNL,” will be hosted by actor Timothée Chalamet, with musical guest Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 11:30 p.m. The historic sketch series, now entering season 46, was created by Lorne Michaels with an all-star cast featuring Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong, Melissa Villaseñor, Kenan Thompson, Pete Davidson, and Aidy Bryant, among others.

Jim Carrey will temporarily be joining to play former Vice President Joe Biden, as will Maya Rudolph to play Senator Kamala Harris. This will follow in the vein of Alec Baldwin’s long-term portrayal of President Donald Trump.

Here’s all the information you’ll need to watch a free live stream of “SNL” online without cable.

“Saturday Night Live” continues on Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. on NBC, with Timothée Chalamet hosting and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band as musical guest, on Dec. 12. Episodes usually air after older reruns of the series at 10 p.m., and local programming at 11 p.m.

If you’re a cord-cutter or don’t have cable, you can live stream “SNL” on Fubo TV (free trial).

If you missed “SNL” or want to binge watch the series as it becomes available, check out Fubo TV (free trial).

According to the official description of the NBC series: “Saturday Night Live,” NBC’s Emmy Award-winning late-night comedy showcase, enters its 45th season for another year of laughs, surprises and great performances. Since its inception in 1975, “SNL” has launched the careers of many of the brightest comedy performers of their generation; and, as The New York Times noted on the occasion of the show’s Emmy-winning 25th Anniversary special in 1999: “In defiance of both time and show business convention, ‘SNL’ is still the most pervasive influence on the art of comedy in contemporary culture.” At the close of the century, “Saturday Night Live” placed seventh on Entertainment Weekly’s list of the Top 100 Entertainers of the past fifty years. Not including specials and digital series, the program has won 67 Emmy Awards, the most for any show in television history. SNL also holds the title for the most nominated television show in Emmy history with 270 nominations, not including specials and digital series. “SNL” has been honored twice, in 1990 and 2009, with the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award and cited as “truly a national institution.” “Saturday Night Live” was inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame by the National Association of Broadcasters, and the show continues to garner the highest ratings of any late-night television program, entertaining millions each week.

How To Watch NFL Games Without Cable: In today’s day and age, you can stream football games on countless platforms. In this article, we take a look at the best way to watch the NFL in 2020 without cable.

The day has finally come. After months of uncertainty and speculation, the NFL will indeed kickoff today as the Texans travel to Arrowhead to take on the defending champions.

Apart from the 16,000 fans who will be at the stadium, the majority of fans will be watching the broadcast on NBC. If you don’t fall under either of these categories, you’re probably wondering: where can I watch NFL games in 2020 without cable?

This year, fans can watch NFL games live with Hulu+LiveTV. The normal Hulu package doesn’t include NFL coverage, but users can watch ESPN, NBC, Fox, and CBS for a fee.

What’s missing?: NFL Redzone and NFL Network

Subscribers will have access to sports channels including ESPN and NFL Network. Additionally, there is an option for a 7 day free trial and for an extra $10.99, you can watch NFL Redzone too.

What’s missing?: ABC

YouTube TV

This may be the most comprehensive option for streaming NFL in 2020. With Youtube TV, you can access every channel you need for the NFL (and more). However, you will have to pay an additional $10.99 for Redzone similar to FuboTV.

Both streaming services will be available via mobile apps on Android and IOS. Moreover, fans can watch the games on their TVs using Roku, Chromecast, Android TV, Apple TV and Fire TV with both Youtube TV and FuboTV.

What’s missing?: Technically, nothing. You’ll have to pay an additional fee for Redzone, though.

Other Streaming Services

Fans can also stream games on a number of other platforms including Sling, AT&TV Now, Vidgo, and CBS All Access.

Thursday Night Football will also be available for Amazon Prime users starting from week 4. Not the worst option for casual fans who don’t need a full blown cable replacement.

Finally, DirecTV will offer a non-satellite version of NFL Sunday ticket to people living in apartments or condos. These fans will be able to watch every Sunday afternoon game live.

Stream “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” along with old favorites on Philo, Sling TV, and others.

How to stream m*a*s*h without cable

Claim your spot on the couch, stat: Lifetime’s Christmas movies are finally here, giving us 30 brand-new releases led by fan favorites including Melissa Joan Hart, Kelly Rowland, and several actors from One Tree Hill. The “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” 2019 lineup is impressive — record-breaking, actually — so, let’s just say, that you won’t want to miss any of it. Luckily, even if you pulled the cable plug, there are several ways to watch and stream Lifetime movies during the Christmas season and beyond.

How to Watch Lifetime Movies Online

Good news: You can survive winter (a.k.a. peak hibernation season) without cable. There are several streaming options that you can connect to roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, or any supported device. Compare the prices and offerings of the following streaming services that all carry Lifetime:

  • Philo: At a flat rate of $20 a month, get 58 channels including Lifetime and Lifetime Movies Network. Get the most out of “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” by getting a free seven-day trial.
  • Sling TV: For $15 a month, choose between the Sling Orange Service for 30 channels, and Sling Blue Service for 45 channels, or opt for a combination of the two for $25 a month. An added bonus: You’ll get Paramount Network (hey, Yellowstone fans!), TLC, and HGTV.
  • fuboTV: The standard package – 71 channels, 30 hours of DVR space, and screen sharing capabilities — starts at $54.99. Before you make any decisions, try a one-week free trial.

How to Watch Movies with Lifetime Movie Club

While you won’t be able to catch this year’s releases on the network’s streaming service, you’ll get access to all of 2018’s Christmas movies along with the other thrillers and dramas from year’s past. For $5 a month, Lifetime Movie Club gives commercial-free access to holiday favorites like A Very Nutty Christmas, Jingle Belle, Christmas Pen Pals, and more. With the month-to-month subscription, you can cancel anytime (although you probably won’t want to). Give it a try with a free seven-day trial, but cancel your weekend plans first since you’ll want to take advantage of it.

Can I watch Lifetime on Hulu or Amazon Prime?

Yes, but it depends what you’re looking for. Hulu Live TV, which starts at $45 a month, has 67 channels that can be streamed simultaneously. The standard Hulu — you know the one— doesn’t carry any Lifetime movies. While Amazon Prime has all Lifetime Christmas (including the ones that recently aired!), they come at a cost: Most are $4 or $5, but at least you can have ’em forever.
