How to remove apple music from the iphone’s music app

Is your favorite music missing on your iPhone or iPad? Maybe you inadvertently turned off syncing or accidentally deleted those tunes. All is not lost; here’s how to recover your music.

How to remove apple music from the iphone’s music app

You attempt to play your favorite music on your iPhone or iPad only to discover that it’s gone. Wait, it was there the last time you checked!

Yes, your music can go missing in action. The sync setting for that album may have been turned off. You could have deleted the music by accident. There’s even a chance you tried to sync your music with iCloud, but it removed the music from your mobile device. So how do you get it back? Let’s look at the ways to restore your missing music.

Look for Missing Music

Connect Your Device

Sync Music

Re-Add Music

Couldn’t find the album in iTunes or the Music app? The album may still be in your collection but just hidden or otherwise not showing up in your library. Open Windows Explorer/Finder and browse to your iTunes or music library. Look for the missing album.

If you find it, return to iTunes. Click on File > Add Folder to Library. On a Mac running Catalina, open the Music app, click on File > Import. Browse to the folder for the album and click Select Folder or Open. You should see the message that iTunes or the Music app is adding the files. Afterward, the missing album should reappear. You can then sync it with your iPhone or iPad.

Re-Download Music

Still coming up empty? The album may have been deleted from your computer. If you ripped the album to iTunes or the Music app from a CD, look for the CD and rip it again. If you no longer own the CD and you have no backup, you’ll have to purchase the album from iTunes.

If you bought the album from iTunes, you should be able to download it again. To do this, click the Store link in iTunes or the iTunes Store entry in the Catalina Music app. On the right side under Music Quick Links, click the link for Purchased. If the album you seek doesn’t appear in the Not in My Library section under Purchased, click the button for All to see all your music purchases.

By default, iTunes shows you any albums that you’ve purchased but that aren’t in your library. If you see the album you want to restore, click the download icon in the upper-right corner of the album art. After the download, return to your iTunes or music library. Look for the album. Play the first few seconds of each song to make sure each one was restored. Then sync the album with your iPhone or iPad.

If you need to free some space on your iPhone, deleting music is a good place to start — music and videos probably take up more space than almost anything else on your phone.

Or, you might just be tired of a particular song, album, or artist and want to excise it from your phone.

Either way, there are two easy ways to delete music from your iPhone.

How to delete music from your iPhone via the Music app

1. Open the Music app.

2. Tap the “Library” tab in the lower left corner of the app. You should see all your music, with links to sort your tracks by playlist, artist, album, and song.

3. Find the album or song you want to delete:

  • To delete an album, tap the album and then tap the three dots to the right.

4. In the options window, tap “Delete from Library.” Confirm that this is what you want to do by tapping “Delete Album” or “Delete Song.”

If you have an iPhone 5S or later, you can more easily delete a song or album using a “deep press” instead. Press deeply on the album or track and an options window should appear. In the options window, tap “Delete from Library.”

How to delete music from your iPhone via Settings

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Tap “General,” and then tap “iPhone Storage.”

3. It may take a moment, but you’ll see a graph showing how your phone’s storage is being used. Tap the “Music” app (apps are listed from largest to smallest, so Music will appear near the top if you have a lot of music stored on your phone).

4. Depending upon how much you want to prune, you have a number of options:

  • To delete the Music app and all of your music, tap “Delete App” and then confirm this choice.
  • To delete all of your music but leave the Music app on your phone, tap “Edit” and then tap “All Songs.”
  • To delete an entire artist (and all of the songs for that artist), swipe the artist top the left and then tap “Delete.” There’s no confirmation – the artist is delete immediately – so be sure this is what you want to do.

Putting all music on an iPhone can lead to storage issues, leaving you with no space for videos, photos, games and other apps. If you want to save some space, you’d better get rid of the music stored on your iPhone. So in this article, we will show you different ways to delete music from iPhone including the albums and songs.

Apple Music subscribers can grant third-party apps access to their account for things like streaming music through Echo devices or creating a year-in-review chart of your most listened-to music.

When you’ve granted a third-party app or service access to your Apple Music account, it will continue to have access until you turn that access off. If you decide you want to reduce the amount of data flowing out of your account, there are a couple of different areas to edit which apps have access to your Apple Music information.

In Apple Music

Those using an iOS device will need to open the Apple Music app and select the For You tab, then tap on your profile photo in the top-right corner. Scroll down on the Account page until you find a section labeled Apps With Access. There you’ll find a list of apps you’ve previously granted access to your account, and if you tap on the Edit button you can remove the apps you no longer use.

On Android, open the Apple Music app and select the For You tab. Next, tap on the three-dot menu icon on the top-right corner (just above your profile photo), followed by Settings. If you’ve granted an app access to your Apple Music account on the Android device, a section of Apps With Access will show up — swipe across the app name to remove it.

Device Settings

Another place to check which apps have access to your Apple Music account is in your iOS device’s Settings. Specifically, open Settings > Privacy > Media & Apple Music.

Slide the switch next to any app or service you’d like to revoke to the off position.

It’s not clear what causes an app to show up in the iOS Settings app versus showing up in the Apple Music app. For me, the apps listed in each section were different, so it’s a good idea to check both places.

How to remove apple music from the iphone’s music app

Apple’s Music app is…okay. It’s a decent music player and Apple Music is a competent streaming service. Here’s the thing, though: I don’t use it. And it’s constantly nagging me to use it.

Apple Music has the deepest integration with iOS of any audio app. This is nice if you’re using it, but a pain if you aren’t. Say I’m listening to a playlist on Spotify or an audiobook on Audible. If I pause it for ten minutes using my headphone’s play/pause button or Control Center, when I go back and press play again, my iPhone tries to play something from Apple Music instead. And all I have in Apple Music are movie soundtracks I bought over a decade ago and a U2 album.

Apple’s constant assumption that you only listen to their Music App is really annoying. I’m a big Apple fan (some might even say Apple apologist), but even I find this one a bridge too far.

So what’s to be done? Well, the simple answer is you have to delete the Music app. It’s been possible since iOS 9. You just hold down on the app until the little X appears and then tap it, same as you do with any app. Tap Delete and it’s gone for good.

How to remove apple music from the iphone’s music appHow to remove apple music from the iphone’s music app

Now your iPhone will no longer default to trying to play something from the Music app whenever you press play. Instead it will jump back into whatever audio app you were last using. As it always should have from the start.

Removing the Music app does come with two main downsides. One, you can’t listen to any music stored on your phone (obviously). If you listen to MP3 files on your phone, even occasionally, you will lose that ability if you delete the Music app. You can’t even use a third-party music app—they require Music installed to work.

Second, you’ll lose all of Siri’s music integration. While you obviously won’t be able to say, “Hey Siri, play me some Run the Jewels” without Apple Music installed. You also aren’t able to use Siri to Shazam what track is playing during the Black Panter teaser trailer (it’s Legend Has It by Run the Jewels).

How to remove apple music from the iphone’s music app

To my mind, this is a pretty easy trade off. I only ever stream my music, and I only Shazam a song every couple of weeks; I press play dozens of times a day. I’m willing to use the standalone Shazam app for that.

Are you tired of autoplay on Apple Music? Here’s how to stop Apple Music from automatically playing.

Stopping autoplay means after a song or album is finished, Apple Music won’t continue on. The solutions covered here are for connecting to AirPods, headphones, Bluetooth speakers, or even inside your car.

By default, autoplay is turned on in Apple Music, and music will continue to play when your phone connects to another device. Here’s how to stop Apple Music from automatically playing songs without your permission.

How to Turn Off Autoplay in Apple Music

    1. Open the Apple Music app on your device.
    2. Tap the mini-player along the bottom when a song is playing.
    3. Tap the ‘Up Next‘ icon in the lower-right corner.
    4. If autoplay is activated, you will see a playlist of queued songs.
    5. Tap the ‘Autoplay‘ icon to disable the feature.
    6. The autoplay playlist will disappear, and the music will stop after the current song.

How to Stop Apple Music Automatically Playing – With Devices

Sometimes our smart devices can inadvertently activate, making it seem like the app is playing music automatically. There are some steps you can take to avoid problems like this. For example, put your AirPods in their case when you’re not using them. Gripping them in your hand or pocket can trick them into turning on and starting music playback.

If you have paired your iPhone with a Bluetooth speaker you no longer want to use, you can unpair it. This works for your car’s Bluetooth system if you don’t use it, too. If you have iPhone Handoff enabled, the feature may be detecting a previously paired device.

    How to Disable iPhone Handoff

    1. Open the ‘Settings‘ app on your iPhone.
    2. Navigate to ‘General‘ then ‘AirPlay & Handoff.
    3. If you are not using the feature, disable it.
    4. If you are using the feature, identify the device you don’t want to connect to any longer and remove it from the settings.

Are you sure it’s Apple Music?

If you’re experiencing problems with music auto-playing in your car, make sure the problem is Apple Music. Some smart cars have built-in Spotify functionality that you may not realize you’re using – especially if you hear ads. Apple Music doesn’t offer a free tier, so the only advertising you’ll hear is on Apple One radio.

This doesn’t help. I have an iPhone 13, and it is updated beyond iOS 15.0. I’m not sure if they’ve changed things, but when I open Apple Music, play a song, go into the mini player, there’s the repeat album, repeat song, or no repeat icon (3 choices in one). There’s no infinity symbol. Still, I turned the replay on then tapped it off to be sure. Didn’t work. Closed app. Reopened. Chose different song on a different album. It still wanted to autoplay other songs. I would really like to stop the auto playing of songs whenever I hop in my car to go somewhere. I don’t use the Apple Music app, I prefer podcasts through another app. Since I received this iPhone 13, now I can be listening to a podcast through my headphones, pause for a bit, hit play and instead of my podcast continuing the Apple Music app starts playing random songs. It never used to hijack my phone like this. Maybe I’ll just delete it.

Like almost all of Apple’s built-in iOS apps, the Music app is capable but hard to use. Apple’s habit of hiding key functions behind multiple button-taps is in full force here, and it’s getting worse. Want to “heart” a track? You used to be able to do it from the lock screen player. Now you have to access the Music app’s share menu, and find it there.

And what if you want to view your recently added items as a list, or your list of songs as a grid? Tough. On the other hand, if you use features like the For You… playlists, and Apple Music’s excellent More by… recommendations, many alternative music apps don’t support them.

The answer to this digital music conundrum is Marvis Pro, a 1-year-old music app that offers everything you need — and nothing you don’t.

    Why ditch Apple’s Music app?

Apple’s Music app for iOS is a bloated mess that still seems to lack advanced features. The Browse section, for example, is like turning on the actual radio. It’s full of songs and artists I have zero interest in listening to. Sure, Apple Music, show me the new Justin Bieber. Why not?

How to remove apple music from the iphone’s music appYou really get me, Apple Music!
    Photo: Cult of Mac

You might know your way around Apple’s Music app by now, but that’s not because it’s well-designed. It’s because you’ve had no choice. You’ve been forced to get used to it.

Want to search for something? No problem. It seems like that would be pretty quick and easy. After all, there’s a search tab permanently sitting at the bottom of the Music app on your iPhone or iPad. And yet, if you tap that search tab, you can end up looking at your previous search results, with no search bar in sight.

That’s because the app preserves the state of the search tab however you left it. If you are looking at an artist page, for instance, and tap the For You tab, then tap Search again, you’ll go back to the artist page from your previous search — with no search bar in sight. You will need to navigate back to the top level of your previous search results to see the search bar again.

    Try Marvis Pro

Now let’s look at Marvis’ search feature. The app uses gestures to access an always-available menu. Just swipe right from any blank space on any screen, and you’ll see the menu slide out. Then, without taking a finger off the screen, slide up or down to pick an entry. Removing your finger from the screen triggers that entry.

And when you trigger search, you see your previous search, but you also see the text cursor is already inside the search box, and any existing search term is already highlighted. You can just start typing, you can paste, and you can even copy. It’s a perfect implementation.

Speaking of that sidebar menu thing, it’s very customizable. You can easily add and remove sections you don’t want — unlike the stock Music app. In fact, the entire Marvis app can be customized. There’s a huge list of settings, and you can also customize any view by tapping the sort button (two arrows, pointing in opposite directions). Take a look at what you can do:

Marvis music app: Too many features

Marvis offers too many cool features to list, so I’ll just mention a few of my favorites. One is that you can see a list of your loved tracks, something impossible in Apple’s own app. Another is drag and drop. You can just drag one or multiple songs/albums to the play panel at the bottom of any screen to add it to the queue. The play panel then morphs to show icons for play next, play later, play now, and shuffle. You can drop the song/s on any of these.

And the other part I love is the For You tab, which collects all your recent activity and recommendations. This is one of the features I miss from other alternative music apps, and Marvis does it really well.

    Up next

The one thing lacking in Marvis is a way to edit the Up Next queue. According to Marvis Pro developer Aditya Rajveer, Apple doesn’t make the required data available to third-party apps.

If you like, you can view the Up Next list, and use it to see what’s coming, but you can’t edit the list itself. However, you can still add songs to the list using the previously mentioned drag-and-drop feature. So, in reality, unless you drag the queue to reorder songs in the stock Music app, you won’t miss out on anything.

I really, really like this app. It works much better than Apple’s poor effort. Marvis is intuitive, slick, customizable and predictable. You can’t really say any of those about Apple’s Music app — apart from slick, I guess.

“How do I stop Apple Music from automatically playing? Ever since I have updated the iOS on my iPhone, I have witnessed some serious glitches. One of them is that my phone automatically starts playing music. How to stop Apple Music from automatically playing on iPhone??”

How to remove apple music from the iphone’s music app

The new features on Apple Music are a godsend for those who love to listen and enjoy the music they find. The Autoplay feature takes away all of your stress, making it so easy just to keep enjoying what you’re playing without having to extend any playlists or schlepping over there every five minutes because “you know” another song will come in handy soon enough.

However, since Apple rolled out iOS 15, many users have complained that Apple Music automatically plays the music, and they don’t know how to disable it. Luckily, we know how to stop Apple Music autoplay, and we will share the convenient techniques in this post.

Why Does Apple Music Automatically Play?

It is vital to understand the causes behind the problem before understanding their solutions. When your iPhone plays music by itself, there are several reasons.

Sometimes it can be an intentional action, such as when you plug in headphones, and other times, the tunes just start playing all on their own!

There could also be something wrong with how devices connect. Additionally, a car’s sound system is set up, so you don’t have to take out your earbuds but instead hear the tunes through its speakers. This may result in some songs from iTunes Cloud popping up without warning.

How to Stop Apple Music from Automatically Playing?

You might be surprised to know that it is pretty common for your iPhone to play music by itself, even when there isn’t an app running in the background. The good news? You can quickly fix the issue if you take the right approach mentioned in this section.

    1. Turn Off The Shake to Shuffle

It is important to note that the new gesture feature of your iPhone will automatically put music on shuffle after being shaken. For that reason, before you take any drastic measure, make sure there have been no recent vibrations. You can also go into settings and stop it from playing altogether. Here are the steps.

    • Open your iPhone’s Setting Menu, and tap on Music.
    • Locate the Shake to Shuffle option, and turn it off.

How to remove apple music from the iphone’s music app

    2. Stop The Music App

Most of the time, the reason behind your iPhone automatically playing music is the music application itself, whether it be Apple Music or any third-party platform, such as Spotify. In that scenario, the best thing you can do is quit the app on the device and restart it. Simply stop or pause the music, and press the Home button to close the application.

    3. Reinstall The Music App

In case you are using a third-party music app and it is causing glitches on the iPhone, then we suggest deleting it and installing it again. Here’s how you can delete the music app.

    • From the iPhone Home Screen, tap and hole the music app’s icon.
    • Next, tap on the Delete option on the pop-up box to remove the app.

    4. Reset The App Settings

The solution to this issue is straightforward. All we have to do is disable its iCloud sync feature before resetting back up again for it to work correctly without any further hassle!

Check out the instructions on how to stop Apple Music from automatically playing.

    • Open Settings, tap on Music and turn off the iCloud Music Library option.
    • After a minute or two, turn it back on.

  • Next, access Apple Music and open your profile. There, sign out of the app.
  • Press the Home Screen and close the application running in the background.
  • Now, launch the app and enter your Apple ID/Password to sign in again.

    5. Reset All Settings

You may have recently changed your iPhone settings and now see that Apple Music is playing on its own. If so, don’t worry! Resetting all saved data will not erase any information stored in either iTunes or iCloud backups; instead, it only reverts to the default values for those features.

Check out how to reset the settings on your iPhone.

    • Access the iPhone Settings.
    • Next, tap the General option, and select Reset.
    • Finally, press Reset All Settings and enter your iPhone’s passcode to confirm the action.

by Jenefey Aaron Updated on 2021-09-18 / Update for iOS 11

iOS iOS 15/14/13/12 brings with it a host of new features for you to explore and enjoy on your iOS enabled devices. As long as you have a device that supports updating to iOS 14, you should be able to enjoy everything that this new version of the OS has in stock for you. One of the latest additions to this version of iOS is a music player widget on the lock screen.

The widget provides you with buttons to control the music files being played. If that’s not something you want, the following guide should help you remove the music player from the lock screen in iOS iOS 15/14/13/12 iPhone 12/11/X/8/8 Plus/7/7 Plus/6s/6s Plus/6/6 Plus.

    1. Force Close All the Apps on Your Device

It could be that an app that is open on your device is playing some music and that’s triggering the music widget to appear on your lock screen. The widget will appear even when the app has paused the track.

So, the first thing you’ll need to do is close all of the open apps on your iOS device. This can be done by double-pressing the Home button and then swiping up all the apps that are on your screen. It will make sure all the apps are closed on your device.

Then check out your lock screen and see if the music widget is gone. It has likely gone because there’s nothing open on your device.

    2. Disable All the Tabs in Safari

It could also be that a website tab in the Safari browser is playing an audio file and that’s triggering the music widget to appear on your lock screen. To get music off lock screen in iOS 15/14/13/12, do the following:

Open the Safari app on your device and close all the tabs that are open in there. This will make sure any tab that may be playing an audio file is also closed.

Once all of the tabs have been closed, you can press the Power button on your device to get to the lock screen. You will find that the music player widget is no longer there. You just accomplished what you wanted to.

    3. Fully Close the Music App on Your Device

Just to be on the safe side, you should fully close the Music app on your iOS 15/14/13/12 device. This means opening it and then making sure it gets closed fully.

Launch the Music app from the springboard of your iOS device. Let the app fully launch. Then, close it down just like you would any other app and make sure that it has been fully closed. If you still hear audio playing from it, it hasn’t been fully closed.

Then get to the lock screen of your device and you will find that the music widget is gone.

If you still can’t get rid of the music widget from your lock screen on iPhone, it could be an issue with the apps you have already uninstalled on your device. These apps may have left some files that are causing the issue and you need to first remove these files to fix the issue.

Enter Tenorshare Free iCareFone Cleaner, a tool that helps free up iOS devices and clean up all junk files, temp files, app caches. It should help you fix the issue that you’re facing on your device. Simply head over to iCareFone Cleaner and download and install the app on your computer and start scanning your device.

When you get to the results screen, click on the Clean button next to each item you want to be removed from your device. In no time, the iCareFone app will have removed the leftover files from your iOS 11/iOS 12 running device.

The above guide should help you get rid of music player from the lock screen in iOS 15/14/13/12. And if you couldn’t do that for some reason, you have a nice small app that helps clean junk that might be preventing your intended task.

If you want to cancel your Apple Music subscription, there are a number of ways to do it. Here’s how to unsubscribe using an iPhone, iPad, Android device, PC, Mac, or on the web.

How to remove apple music from the iphone’s music app

Since its launch in June 2015, Apple Music has grown into a popular music-streaming service among Apple aficionados. The service lets you stream more than 70 million songs, listen to playlists created by music experts, and tune into the 24/7 Apple Music 1 radio station to hear music selected by DJs from around the world.

You can listen to Apple Music on a Windows PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, Android device, newer Apple TVs, and on the web. Apple offers a three-month free trial, and Verizon customers with an Unlimited plan can even score a free, six-month subscription (Opens in a new window) .

That all sounds cool, but what if Apple Music is not everything you wanted? Perhaps it’s too expensive, or maybe you don’t listen enough to justify the cost. Perhaps another music streaming service has stolen your heart, your ears, and your budget. Whatever the reason, you want to cancel your membership.

If you cancel your free trial, it will end immediately. However, a paid subscription will run until the end of your current billing cycle. You can also opt to re-subscribe should you change your mind, but your new subscription will begin at the start of the next billing cycle. Here’s how to say goodbye to Apple Music.

    Cancel on iOS or iPadOS

Navigate to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device and tap the Apple Music entry. At the Edit Subscription screen, tap the Cancel Subscription (or Free Trial) button and confirm the cancellation.

You can also cancel your subscription right from the Apple Music app by tapping the Listen Now icon, then tapping the profile icon in the upper right. From the Account page, tap Manage Subscription to cancel or modify your subscription.

    Cancel on an Android Device

Android users subscribed to Apple Music can tap the Listen Now icon, then open the three-dot settings menu and select Account. From there, choose Manage Subscription and tap Cancel Subscription.

If you subscribed through the Play Store, you can also cancel directly through the storefront. Open the hamburger menu in the app and select Subscriptions to see all your current and former subscriptions. Tap the Remove link next to the Apple Music entry to cancel the service.

    Cancel on a Mac

Starting with macOS Catalina, Apple jettisoned the iTunes app, so the process for cancelling an Apple Music subscription has changed. If you’re running either Catalina or Big Sur, click the Apple icon, open System Preferences, then select Apple ID. No matter young or old, male or female, people would like to play music in a car in order to keep the driver awake, avoid long silence when you don’t know what to say to the passengers or enjoy music time when hitting the traffic jam. Now, as many cars have Bluetooth stereo systems so it’s very convenient to listen music in the car, which means once you get into the car, it will automatically start to play Apple music in the car from your iPhone. But sometimes, it can be a trouble as you may be startled by the blasting music or audiobook chapters when you first get into the car.

For whatever reasons you want to turn off apple music autoplay, you may find that your iPhone doesn’t provide “Turn off autoplaying music over Bluetooth” switch or similar button directly. But don’t worry, I’d like to introduce some easy ways to stop Apple Music from automatically playing in car. The following methods are classified into two kinds, you can choose either setting your car or iPhone in your preference.

    You May Like:

    • Part 1. Turn Off Apple Music Autoplay by Setting in Car
    • Part 2. Turn Off Apple Music Autoplay by Setting in iPhone

Part 1. Turn Off Apple Music Autoplay by Setting in Car

As the music is played from the car, so you can certainly turn off Apple Music autoplay by setting your car.

Option 1: Turn Down the Car Stereo Volume to Zero

To avoid Apple Music autoplaying in the car, turning down the car stereo volume to zero before you turn off the engine should be a fairly lame solution, but there is no doubt that it works really effectively. But some of you may forget to turn down the car stereo volume before turning off the engine, then go on and try another methods.

Option 2: Check Car Settings and Turn off Autoplaying

As some cars may offer car stereo auto-playing Bluetooth settings, so you can turn off the autoplaying music function or other default volume setting which can turn off the volume of autoplaying music or audiobooks. But unfortunately, this method doesn’t work for each car because some of you may not find these settings in your car. If so, read on.

Option 3: Turn Off the CarPlay

Even though your Bluetooth stereo system doesn’t officially support CarPlay, you can also use the Restrictions section of the Settings app to turn off Apple Music Autoplaying. Before getting into the car, open the Settings app, click on “General” and go on “Restrictions”, then select “Enable Restrictions” and enter the passcode, finally toggle the CarPlay switch to “Off”.

Part 2. Turn Off Apple Music Autoplay by Setting in iPhone

As the car stereo is linked to the iPhone through Bluetooth stereo systems, so you can stop apple music from automatically playing by changing settings of your iPhone.

Option 1: Adding a Silent Song to Your Music Library

You can find a light song or pure music which are gentle and add it to your music library on your iPhone or iPad. But don’t forget to change its title to start with “A” to keep it is always the first track in your music library. Next time, when you get into the car, the silent track will be played automatically. But it can’t help you turn stop iPhone from autoplaying music in car Bluetooth.

Option 2: Tell Siri to “Stop Music”

Siri is always a good helper for iPhone users which can help you turn on, turn off the app or talk with you. That means you can summon Siri in car to stop playing music by saying the instruction, then your iPhone will disable all music at once. But that means you need to interact with Siri every time you want to stop autoplaying Apple Music.

As the music autoplaying is coming from Apple Music on the iPhone, so you can quit it before you getting into the car. It’s very easy to quit apps on iPhone, just double-tap the Home button and then swipe up on the Apple Music.

Option 4: Delete the Apple Music App on the iPhone

Deleting the Apple Music app on the iPhone can stop Apple Music automatically when you getting into the car, however, it’s not a really good method, so I don’t recommend you to use this method. If you do need to delete the Apple Music app, then you can try to use another famous streaming music services such as Spotify and Pandora.

    Option 5. Send Apple Feedback

Except the above methods, you can tell Apple Inc. about the problem and ask Apple Inc. to put in a setting switch to make it happen. Maybe you are the one who can persuade Apple Inc. to add such setting switch.

How to hide Apple Music on your iOS device

What happens after hiding Apple Music?

As hinted above, removing Apple Music changes your music listening experience and brings back the old way of navigating your music library in the Music app. Here’s precisely what happens after you disable Apple Music on your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad or Mac.

    1. Apple Music disappears from search

With Apple Music enabled, the two buttons right below the Music app’s search field let you narrow the search scope to Apple Music and Your Library. Hiding Apple Music will also remove the Apple Music button from search and replace it with Radio.

Tip: In order to search across radio stations when Apple Music is enabled, simply run your search query across Apple Music. Then in your search results, scroll down until you see matches in the Stations subsection.

It’s not very intuitive but gets the job done.

    2. For You, and Browse tabs get removed

Some folks will want to turn off Apple Music just to get their old tabs back. With Apple Music enabled, the Music app replaces some of the old tabs with the four new buttons: Library, For You, Browse, Radio, and Search.

To get rid of the For You, and Browse tabs, simply hide Apple Music. If you want to get rid of the Connect tab alone, consult this tutorial.

    3. Offline songs remain in your iOS music library

When you hide Apple Music, songs you previously downloaded for offline listening will remain in the music library on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Should you also disable iCloud Music Library, offline tracks and Apple Music songs will get removed from the device, freeing up storage space.

How to remove apple music from the iphone’s music app

    What is iCloud Music Library?

iCloud Music Library can be switched on and off separately from Apple Music.

iCloud Music Library is similar to iCloud Photo Library: it stores your music and playlists in iCloud so you can access them from any device. Upon enabling the feature, your Mac will compare each song in your music library to iTunes’ vast catalog of thirty million songs, and counting.

Matched songs become immediately available to stream on all your devices with iCloud Music Library enabled. Non-matched songs get uploaded to iCloud first, after which you can stream them to any device.

How to disable iCloud Music Library on iOS

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.

Step 2: Navigate to the Music section.

Step 3: Flip the iCloud Music Library switch to the OFF position.

How to disable iCloud Music Library on OS X

Step 1: Open iTunes on your Mac or Windows PC.

Step 2: Choose Preferences in the iTunes menu on your Mac, or choose Edit > Preferences on a PC.

Step 3: Click the General tab and untick the box labeled “iCloud Music Library”.

It’s unlikely this is an intentional move by Apple

How to remove apple music from the iphone’s music app

It looks like Apple Music is replacing some apps (even third-party ones) on the iPhone’s Dock after it’s installed.

As first reported by MacRumors, several reports of the issue have appeared on Twitter and Reddit. In one instance, Twitter user Kevin Archer says that Apple Music is only replacing non-Apple apps. Still, TechCrunch says that’s not the case and that Apple Music takes over Apple’s own camera app and Safari in the dock.

Seems like if you download the Apple Music app from App Store, it will automatically appear on your device (iPhone) dock, more than this, it will change any other 3d party app with the Music app. If on your dock, you only have Apple apps it won’t do anything. pic.twitter.com/c0pkO9G2pq

Other reports state that Apple Music is automatically being set as the iPhone’s default music streaming platform when it’s installed, even if another app has already been set. The issue seems to affect iOS devices running 15.4.1 and earlier versions of iOS 15.

Though it would make sense to assume that this isn’t a bug and is an intentional move on Apple’s part, likely, that isn’t the case given the microscope the company is currently under regarding favouring its own apps.

I just verified this on iOS 15.4.1. With Spotify installed and on the dock, installing Apple Music removed Spotify from the dock and put Apple Music there – without asking. Happens without Apple Music being run, so clearly Apple has rigged their OPERATING SYSTEM to do this!

That said, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney claims that when he installed Apple Music, Spotify was removed from the dock, stating that Apple has “rigged” iOS to favour its own apps in the Dock despite the random nature of the glitch.

Apple will likely solve this issue relatively quickly.

The slideshow feature in the photos app on your iPhone 6 is a great way to passively look at a group of your photos. Simply select the pictures that you want to include in the slideshow, and the device will play them for you. It will even add background music to the experience.

In most cases, you should be able to delete just about any app installed on your iPhone. That said, if you can’t delete apps on your iPhone 13, there are two potential causes:

Don’t use Apple Music on your iPhone, iPad or your Mac? Here’s how you can turn it off completely and turn things to how they were before the service didn’t existed.

How to remove apple music from the iphone’s music app

Apple made a huge song and dance about its new music service service when it was first announced at this year’s WWDC. Making its debut as part of iOS 8.4, the service was greeted with wide open arms by the tech community in general, but there exists a small subset of users who aren’t keen on the Cupertino company’s new creation and would rather do without it, or go for third-party services such as Spotify. If you fall onto the the latter category of users then you might want to turn off Apple Music for good on your iOS device or your Mac, and we’ll show you how it can be done.

Apple Music is the Cupertino company’s first ever venture into the world of streaming music. And while the company revolutionized the world of music with iTunes, iPod and subsequently its latest range of iOS devices, music streaming for a one-off fee was something which a huge set of users have been waiting for.

In our course of using Apple Music on our devices, it’s safe to report that the service is off to a solid start. Of course, there are a few rough edges here and there, but we’re certain that it’s something a software update can easily fix.

Apple Music is currently in its trial period, and when that ends, users will be required to pay $9.99 a month to keep on going with the service. If you want to sign-up for Apple Music, then be sure to check out our guide on it.

When you think about Apple today, you realize that all of its devices are connected. They are not only linked to a brand name but also by iTunes, which to some extent acts as a monopolist. It has many advantages such as:

    • works on all Apple products;
    • offers a wide range of playlist categories as well as customized ones;
    • there is a lot of stuff for entertainment to choose from – music, movies, apps etc.;
    • iTunes helps to put video and music on iPhone and iPod without another apps.

    But are there any disadvantages?

There are. For instance, you can authorize it only for up to 5 devices; it slows down the overall performance of the device, etc. It’s a magic, but the non-clear iTunes interface makes this task a slightly difficult

But one of the main ones is that many of the music formats, such as OGG and FLAC, still, after years of improvements and development of iTunes, cannot be played with iTunes. All of this led many of Apple customers to start looking for an alternative to iTunes and the best way for: how to put music and films on their iPhones without using iTunes.

Can you relate? Seriously, how many times have you thought about avoiding iTunes when downloading music? Once, twice, perhaps even more? Well, there is a number of ways of doing that, let’s discuss the most popular ones.

    Streaming music

The only thing you have to do is to sign up for a free music streaming service such as Spotify, Rdio, Pandora, SoundCloud. If you find ads too annoying, you can always upgrade to a paid account or subscribe for the service; other than that these services provide you with new music every time you open it. Take a minute and check the native SoundCloud desktop app for Mac.

    Using cloud services

It is quite easy to play your music and other media files with cloud services – just upload your library to Dropbox/Google Play/Amazon Cloud and then access it from other devices from any spot in the world. In the case of Google Play and Amazon Cloud you can also purchase music and add it to your collection. Google Play also allows you to upload up to 50 000 songs for free, whereas Amazon Cloud allows you to add only 250 songs to the music library free of charge, but you can increase it up to 250 000 if you subscribe. Unfortunately the downside of using such services is that a range of formats which can be played is not very big :-(.

Even though Amazon Cloud claims to be able to play FLAC and a number of other not-so-widely supported formats, the quality of playback decreases. If it is open in a web-browser, quality declines even further so it is not really a solution for audiophiles.
