As I explained in my previous reply, it is not possible to completely turn Siri off only on Apple Watch.

To turn Siri off completely on both devices, under the latest software versions (which have different settings than when this thread was started), follow these steps:

  • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Siri & Search.
  • Turn off Listen for “Hey Siri”.
  • Turn off Press Home for Siri / Press Side Button for Siri (the setting depends on your iPhone model).

You can turn off Siri for the Apple watch through Settings on your watch (not the watch app on your phone). I’m on build 4.2 by the way. Once you open Settings on your watch, go to General>Siri. Then you can toggle off Siri for your watch. Hope that helps!

The Apple Watch comes with Hey Siri turned on by default, but you may have accidentally disabled it or you may really want to disable Hey Siri. Whatever maybe the case, you will find below the steps to both Enable or Disable Hey Siri on your Apple Watch.

With Hey Siri enabled, you no longer have to press the digital crown on your Apple Watch to activate Siri, you can simply lift the watch towards your mouth and say “Hey Siri.”

How to Turn Off “Hey Siri” on Your Apple Watch? – Apple watches are one of the most recent inventions made by Apple, wherein every day new features are added on to, to make it more useful for the users. Lately Siri was included which has enabled this watch to perform tasks which other watches cannot.

The apple watch is capable of functioning on Siri, and thus you can use it to make calls, check time, navigate and also to text your near and dear ones. One can access Siri, by simply holding and pressing the digital crown down unless Siri appears to ask what he can help you with. Same can be done, by turning watch towards your mouth and speaking “Hey Siri”. This method is a bit convenient one, but all the users would not like to opt for the same. The best thing about the watch is it has been made extraordinarily user-friendly, owing to which every user can use it their own way and make the most out of it.

Having Siri on your wrist is undoubtedly an amazing feature but it can become really frustrating for users who don’t want to use Siri or is not willing to interact with it much. This is one of the reasons the turn off feature has been provided in the watch, with the help of which users can easily turn off Siri and thus continue using their watch their own way.

How to Turn Off “Hey Siri” on Your Apple Watch?

So, if, in case, you wish to deactivate “Hey Siri” feature on your watch then you will have to follow the steps mentioned below;

  • Open the settings in your watch
  • Move ahead to the general category in setting. Scroll the general category and then press open “Siri”
  • With Siri opened on your watch, the only option which you will be asked to attend too is “Hey Siri”. However if you don’t wish to attend Siri, then simply tap off” Hey Siri” and it won’t come up to you to disturb you again.

Thus, above mentioned steps can be comfortably followed by the users to turn off their Siri on the watch. However if you want to reinstate this feature, then simply turn on Hey Siri and it would be back on your watch to assist you for different things. So keep enjoying Siri on your apple watch at your own convenience and reinstate it as and when you want to use the same.

I do not like my Apple Watch 2 (watchOS 4.2) to intercept Siri requests to my iPhone X (iOS 11.2.1) or to start Siri without solicitation.

Is there a way to turn Siri off on the watch and not on my iPhone ?

Thanks and best wishes to all

Apple Watch Series 2, watchOS 4.2

It is not possible to completely disable Siri on Apple Watch other than by also disabling Siri on your iPhone.

Hey Siri

To turn off the “Hey Siri” feature only on your Apple Watch:

When viewing the time on your Apple Watch, press the Digital Crown to open the Home screen > tap on Settings > General > Siri > turn off “Hey Siri”.

Activating Siri using the Digital Crown

You may also be activating Siri by accidentally pressing the Digital Crown.

If your Apple Watch is worn too close to your hand, then the Digital Crown may be pressed by the back of your hand when flexing your wrist. If so:

  • It may help to wear your Apple Watch a little further up your arm.
  • It may otherwise help to wear your Apple Watch with the buttons on the other side and/or on your other wrist:

To change the configuration: on your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Watch Orientation > choose the preferred wrist and side for the buttons.

Feedback

If you would like to submit a feature request to Apple for any other options for disabling Siri on Apple Watch, then you can do so here:

Make the most of your Apple Watch by learning how to access and use Apple’s virtual assistant, Siri.

Apple's virtual assistant, Siri, is available to use on any Apple Watch to accomplish a myriad of tasks, just like on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

We'll show you how to interact with Siri on the Apple Watch and explore some commands you can give the assistant.

How to Ask Siri a Question on an Apple Watch

As a nice touch, there are three different ways you can ask Siri a question on your Apple Watch. We'll take a look at each method below.

1. Press and Hold the Digital Crown

The first method to call Siri is the simplest. Just press down and hold the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch.

After a quick haptic touch on your wrist, you'll then see the familiar Siri waveform and the question "What can I help you with today?"

Just speak your request.

Say "Hey Siri"

For a completely hands-free way to call Siri on the Apple Watch, just use a command familiar to iPhone users. Saying "Hey Siri" will automatically call the virtual assistant.

Feeling the haptic feedback will let you know that Siri is listening for your request.

Raise Your Wrist

Another way to call Siri on an Apple Watch is to simply raise your wrist. Hold the watch near your mouth and speak your request.

Just to note, you will need an Apple Watch Series 3 with watchOS 5 or later to use this way of calling Siri.

Changing Siri Apple Watch Settings

To create a better Siri experience with your Apple Watch, you can also modify a number of Settings. You can head to Settings > Siri on the Apple Watch to do so.

First, you can toggle on or off the three ways to call Siri on the watch: Hey Siri, or Raise to Speak, or Press Digital Crown. If you're concerned about preserving the maximum amount of battery life, consider toggling the Hey Siri option to off.

Select Siri History > Delete Siri History to delete all the Siri and dictation interactions associated with your Apple Watch from Apple servers.

Further down, you can change Siri's language and voice to any of the available options.

In the Voice Feedback section, you can choose Always On, Control With Silent Mode, or Headphones Only. In Control With Silent Mode, all responses will be silent when your watch is set to Silent mode. In Headphones Only, you'll only hear Siri respond when the watch is connected to a sort of Bluetooth headphones.

Even if Siri's voice feedback is off, you will see a response on the screen of your Apple Watch.

Below the section to control the volume of Siri's voice responses, you can toggle Announce Calls on or off. With supported headphones, including Apple's AirPods line, this option lets you hear a short announcement of who is calling.

What You Can Do With Siri on an Apple Watch

Siri is surprisingly powerful, even on the Apple Watch.

Some of the tasks you can accomplish with just a voice command include the ability to send a message, set a reminder, place a phone call, and much more.

If you're curious about what Siri can do on the watch, just say "Hey Siri, what can you do?" to see a number of different options.

Using the Power of Voice With Apple Watch

With just your voice, you can quickly and easily interact with an Apple Watch and Siri to help you get tasks done, whether for work or play.

And past the Apple Watch, there are a number of tasks that you might not know that Siri can do on your iPhone.

Here are some of the most surprising things you can do with Siri to get more from the virtual assistant!
