No longer need your fix of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars films? Here’s how to cancel your Disney+ subscription on the web.
You may already subscribe to different video streaming services, such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. But you wanted to give Disney+ a try to watch your favorite Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel films and maybe catch Baby Yoda on The Mandalorian. But now you’re tired of the service or just don’t want to pay for it any longer and need to cancel. Here’s how to do just that.
A subscription to Disney+ alone currently sells for $6.99 a month or $69.99 for a full year. You can try before you buy with a free 7-day trial. If you cancel during the trial, you won’t be charged for the subscription. If you cancel after the trial is over, your subscription will continue until the next billing cycle, which means the end of the month if you opted for the monthly plan, and the end of the year if you went for the annual option. In either case, you’ll still be charged for the initial $6.99 for the current month or the $69.99 for the full year.
Alternatively, a $12.99-per-month Disney bundle gives you access to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN. You can start off with this monthly option or switch to it after you’ve already signed up for Disney+ alone. The same cancellation policy applies. If you cancel, your subscription will remain in effect until the end of your current month, and you’ll be charged the full $12.99.
You can cancel your Disney+ or Disney bundle subscription through the Disney+ website. Browse to the Disney+ website and sign into your account. Click the icon for your profile and select the option for Account.
At the Account page, click the link for Billing Details. If you go through the app, you will automatically be redirected to the website. You must then enter your account credentials to make any changes.
From the Billing Details screen, select the Cancel Subscription link. The next page asks if you want to cancel the subscription. Click the Complete Cancellation button to proceed and you will see a confirmation screen.
Disney will also ask you to fill out a brief survey that asks why you decided to cancel your subscription. Check one or more reasons why you cancelled the subscription, like price, incompatible devices, technical issues, or something else. Certain responses trigger additional options to check.
If you select Other, you’re asked to type a specific reason for cancelling the Disney+ service. When done, click the Submit button.
You’ll also receive an email confirming the cancellation. Should you change your mind, click the Restart Subscription button in the email to resume your subscription.
We’re sorry to see you go. First, to be clear, this FAQ is about cancelling your Disney+ subscription—not the Disney account you use for other products and experiences from the Walt Disney Company.

Whether you signed up for the Disney+ seven-day trial or were given a year-long membership from Verizon for free, here’s how to cancel your subscription before you have to start paying for the streaming service.
Start by visiting the Disney+ website on your computer or smartphone. From there, log in to your account.
Note: You’ll be taken to the Disney+ website if you attempt to cancel your plan from the Android, iPhone, or iPad mobile app. It’s faster to start from a web browser.
Desktop users should now select the account holder’s profile.
Hover over your avatar photo in the top-right corner of the window and then select the “Account” option from the pop-up menu.
If you’re using a mobile browser on your phone or tablet, after logging in, you will need to scroll to the bottom of the page and tap the “Manage Account” link.
Locate the “Subscriptions” heading near the bottom of the page. Select the “Billing Details” link to proceed.
Click or tap on the “Cancel Subscription” link in the “Disney+ Subscription” section.
Finally, if you’re sure you want to cancel your Disney+ subscription, select the large, red “Complete Cancellation” button. Choose the “No, Go Back” button to keep the streaming service.
When you choose to cancel your Disney+ subscription, you retain access to your account through the remainder of your billing period. Once your cancellation takes effect, you can reactivate the streaming service and regain access to your favorite Disney movies and TV shows.
As far as video streaming services are concerned, Disney+ is actually one of the cheapest options around where at $6.99 a month (or $69.99 a year), it is rather affordable. However, there is no one perfect streaming service. This is largely due to licensing and exclusives which means that it would be impossible for you to truly enjoy everything you want to watch under a single service.
This usually means you might need to subscribe to more than one service at once, which can be a rather expensive affair. If Disney+ isn’t the service for you and you would like to cancel your subscription, it’s actually a relatively simple process, more so given the fact that like most video streaming services, you’re not locked into a contract.
How to cancel Disney+ subscription on the web
- Go to www.disneyplus.com and log into your account
- Select your Profile

- Select Complete Cancellation to confirm your decision
How to cancel Disney+ subscription on iOS and Android
To cancel Disney+ on iOS or Android, you need to know if you’ve subscribed through either the iTunes App Store or Google Play, because if you’ve subscribed through those app stores, you’ll have to cancel through them. If you’ve subscribed directly through Disney, then you can follow the steps above to cancel your subscription.
To cancel Disney+ on iOS
- Open Settings and tap your account name
- Tap iTunes & App Store
- Choose Apple ID > View Apple ID
- Tap on Subscriptions
- Tap on Disney Plus
- Tap Cancel Subscription
- Tap on Confirm
To cancel Disney+ on Android
- Launch the Google Play Store
- Tap the Menu button and select Subscriptions
- Select Disney Plus
- Tap Cancel Subscription
- Tap Confirm
Once your subscription has been cancelled, you’ll be able to continue watching until the next billing cycle. If you’ve selected the annual subscription, you’ll basically be able to watch until you’ve reached the end of the annual subscription, even if you’ve cancelled one month in. Like we said, there is no contract so you’re free to restart or cancel your subscription anytime you want.
Disney+ pricing and plans
Disney+ is priced at $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year which makes it a lot cheaper than other streaming services like Netflix. There is also a bundled plan that includes Hulu (the version with ads) and ESPN+ for $12.99 a month, making it cheaper than subscribing to all those services separately.
Disney+ can also be watched on as many as 1-4 devices at once, so even though there is no family plan, you can connect your Disney+ account to multiple devices, like your smart TV, smartphone, computer, or tablet, and stream through it simultaneously.

For most people, there’s a lot of content to love on Disney+. The Mandalorian is already a massive hit, the majority of the Marvel and Pixar are at your fingertips, and the service allows to binge through nearly the entire Skywalker Saga ahead of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker‘s release next month. But if you’re not a big Disney fan and don’t find yourself super into the worlds of Star Wars or Marvel, there may not be enough on Disney+ to make you want to stay.
The service offers a one week free trial to new users before charging $6.99 each month. If you’re nearing the end of that trial and hoping to cancel, or you’ve already started your first month and want to get rid of the service before being charged again, there are a couple of simple steps you can follow. However, there is a different process for cancelling the service depending on whether or not you signed up for a subscription through the mobile app.
If you signed up for Disney+ through a web browser, you’ll simply need to visit the website, www.disneyplus.com, in order to cancel. Once there, click on your profile icon at the top right corner of the page, then head into the “Account” menu from the drop down. All you’ll need to do then is select “Billing Details” and click “Cancel subscription.” It’ll ask if you’re sure about your decision and you can click “Complete Cancellation” to follow through.
For those who signed up through the iOS app on an iPhone, you’ll need to go into your Apple ID settings in order to cancel. Open up the settings app on your iPhone and click on your Apple ID at the top of the menu. From there, head to the option titled “Subscriptions” and then you’ll see all of the current and past subscriptions you’ve signed up for from your phone. The only thing left to do is click on Disney+ and then choose to cancel.
The process is similar if you signed up through the Google Play store on an Android device. Head to the Google Play Store, click on the menu options and choose “Subscriptions.” From there, all you need to do is choose Disney+ and cancel the subscription.
If you’ve already been charged for a new month of the service, you’ll still be able to access Disney+ until the next billing cycle, so don’t get worried that the cancellation didn’t work if your app is still functioning.
Disney Plus offers new users a seven-day free trial, but if you decide you don’t want to subscribe to the streaming service, you need to cancel Disney Plus before your free trial ends. Otherwise you will be charged.
When you sign up for the free trial, you need to hand over your payment details. But money will only leave your account if you decide not to cancel your trial before the seven-day period is up.
In other words, if you’re enjoying Disney Plus and want to stick around for the long term, you don’t need to do a thing − you’ll automatically become a paying member when your free trial ends.
But if you’ve got what you wanted from the free trial, such as the entirety of The Mandalorian season 1, and don’t want to pay to become a fully-fledged Disney Plus subscriber, you need to remember to cancel your free trial before it ends.
Disney will not email you a reminder saying that your free trial is about to come to a close. However, you can cancel it in advance.
That’s to say, you can cancel your free trial at any time during the seven-day trial period − and you’ll be able to continue accessing Disney Plus until the moment your free trial was originally due to end.
For instance, if you signed up to the free trial at 1pm on Monday, you could cancel it at 8pm that very same day, and continue to watch everything on Disney Plus until 12:59pm on the following Monday.
If you signed up for the free trial directly through Disney Plus (not through a third-party service) here’s how to cancel it:
- Log into your account on the Disney Plus website
- Go to Profile > Account > Billing Details
- Select ‘Cancel Subscription’, and ‘Complete Cancellation’ to confirm
If you signed up for the free trial via a third-party service, the process is slightly different.
If you signed up to the Disney Plus free trial via iTunes, click here for cancellation instructions or do the following:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad
- Tap your name at the top, followed by iTunes & App Store
- Tap your Apple ID, then View Apple ID
- Tap ‘Subscriptions’ and select your Disney Plus subscription
If you signed up for the Disney Plus free trial via Google Play, click here for cancellation instructions or do the following:
- Go to the Google Play website
- On the left, click ‘My Subscriptions’
- Select your Disney Plus subscription and hit Manage
If you signed up for the Disney Plus free trial via Roku, do the following:
- Go to the Roku website
- Click or tap ‘Manage your subscriptions’
- Select your Disney Plus subscription
If you signed up for the Disney Plus free trial via Amazon, do the following:
- Visit Amazon’s app store subscriptions page
- Sign in to your Amazon account
- Find your Disney Plus subscription and select Actions
Are you sure you’re ready to bail?
Now that the first season of The Mandalorian has ended and you binge-watched all The Simpsons episodes over the holiday, you may be feeling it is time to let go of Disney+. Perhaps you’ve got choice overload between all the new services and are trying to cut back or you’re not thrilled with the titles that are available, canceling Disney+ is an option wither you signed up monthly or bought the yearly bundle price. However, canceling Disney+ is a little complicated depending on how you signed up in the first place, but we’ll walk you through it.
How to Cancel Disney+?
For the most part, Disney has made it relatively straight forward to cancel the subscription, but things do get a little complicated if you signed up for the services on your phone. For the majority of people, signing into your Disney account on a web browser is the easiest path to canceling.
Sign in to your account at disneyplus.com and click Profile on the top right corner. From there, click the Account option and next to subscription, you’ll click on Billion Options. You will be taken to a page that will outline the type of subscription that you’re on, whether it be yearly or monthly. To cancel altogether, choose “Cancel Subscription” where clicking on that will take you to another page that will try and get you to re-think your decision. This page will share some reasons that Disney+ is awesome and have you will need to click another button to move forward with your cancelation. Choose “Complete Cancelation” – then you’re asked to select a reason why, which you can’t skip. After you do all these steps, you should receive an email with the address you signed up for, confirming the cancelation.
What Happens When I Cancel Disney+?
After you hit that “complete cancelation” button, the service is still available until you hit your next billing cycle. If you cancel on the day your free trial was over, or you were about to roll into the next month but have a few days left, you’ll still have that time to be able to access the services. If you canceled a year-long subscription, you won’t be able to access once the full year is up.
How to Cancel Disney+ If You Signed Up on Your Phone Or a Third-Party?
This is where things get a little complicated for people. If you signed up for the service on your phone or a third-party like the App Store or Google Play) the steps are a little different.
To cancel on your iPhone, head over to Settings, tap your name, which is at the very top. From there, navigate to “Subscriptions,” and if you did sign up for Disney+ through your iPhone, Disney+ will appear here. Click on Disney+ and select “Cancel Subscription.”
If you signed up to Disney+ through Google Play, open the store on your Android phone, click on Menu, then Subscriptions, and from there navigate to Disney+ and select “Cancel subscription.”
If you’re not sure where you signed up, follow the same steps to cancel using a web browser. When you get to Billing Details, there should be hyperlinks to follow to cancel via whichever third-party service you signed up for it with.
What If I change My Mind and Want Disney+ Again?
If you went through all the steps to cancel and you’ve got regret, signing back up is way easier than it was to cancel, because of course. If you want to re-sign up or cancel your cancelation, head to the site on a web browser and sign back in using your email address and password. Click on Account at the top right screen and re-enter your billing informant. Unfortunately, you can only use the free 7-day trial once, per email address.
You subscribed to Disney Plus and gave it a good test drive during the 7-day free trial, but you decided that you don’t like it and you would now like to unsubscribe.
There are many reasons to want to unsubscribe. Maybe you aren’t satisfied with the available content. You have binge-watched all of the Marvel movies, and all seasons of The Simpsons already. Maybe it’s because the streaming service is glitchy and lacks some of the crucial features.
Whatever the case may be, Disney Plus made unsubscribing easy. Keep reading to find out how.

Disney Plus Alternatives
Now that you have your subscription to Disney Plus canceled, you might want to find some other streaming platform that will actually have the content and the features you need. Here are the best streaming services out there.
Netflix is among the biggest if not the biggest streaming service out there, with over 1,500 TV shows and 4,000 movies. You can create up to 5 different profiles, each with its own watch list, so you can share your account with your family and friends.
Besides the countless new and classic TV shows and movies, Netflix has its own original content. This content includes series like Daredevil, House of Cards, Peaky Blinders, and Stranger Things. The most popular documentaries include Our Planet, Making a Murderer, and Cooked.
Anime fans can binge One-Punch Man and Death Note, while comedy buffs have series like The Ranch at their disposal. Of course, movies such as The Highwaymen, Rim of the World, and High Seas are also on the roster.
You can stream Netflix on virtually any device and you can choose from Basic, Standard, and Premium plans that cost from $9 to $16 a month.
2. Amazon Prime
Amazon Prime is not just an excellent streaming service with over 18,000 movies and almost 2,000 TV shows, because it also gives members the benefits of free and fast shipping and exclusive shopping.
Amazon Prime features comedy shows like Good Omens, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Cheers. Popular dramas shows include The Wire and Hannibal. Fantasy shows like Doctor Who and Vikings are also available.
The shopping and shipping benefits are so numerous that it would be impossible to list here, but they’re definitely worth the subscription. Amazon Prime’s annual subscription fee is $119 while monthly fee is $13. That being said, first 30 days are free with a yearly subscription.
3. HBO Now
HBO Now gives you access to everything HBO offers, and that includes all of the original and licensed TV shows, movies, sports content, and documentaries. The streaming service is available on pretty much any device.
HBO Now offers movies like Leaving Neverland, Deadwood, The Tale, and Darkman. TV shows such as Game of Thrones, Westworld and the Sopranos are also on the list. With $15 a month, it is not the cheapest streaming service of the bunch, but the content it offers is well worth the additional price.
Hulu is mainly focused on streaming TV shows, and it offers plenty of original content. The streaming service allows users early access to popular shows from a wide variety of networks. You can stream it to almost any device and even watch your favorite TV shows offline. Many other services seem to lack offline mode.
Hulu has many subscription plans and they go from Basic with the price of $6 per month to Premium + Live TV that costs $51. Hulu is a bit different than most other streaming services, but it is your best pick if you want to watch the newest shows as soon as possible.
Many Options to Choose from
Even if you didn’t get what you expected from Disney Plus, there are still many of other streaming services that can give you what you need. Pick your favorite and start binging right away.
