Biology

Pangoro is a large bipedal Pokémon resembling a humanoid panda bear. It has a stocky build with a round belly, short legs, and long arms with large paws. Its head and belly are covered in thick white fur, while its lower body, chest, arms, and back are covered in equally thick dark gray fur. A long cape of this dark gray fur hangs down behind its back; in combination with the rest of the dark-furred pattern, this gives the impression that Pangoro is wearing a long coat and trousers. Pangoro’s three-fingered paws have shorter, darker fur and are tipped with black claws. It has a blunt snout with a triangular black nose, rounded black ears, prominent fangs in its lower jaw, and black semicircles under its brow that make its eyes indistinguishable. Pangoro likes to carry a thin-stemmed shoot with two leaves in its mouth. This small bamboo shoot is used to sense the movements of those around it.

Despite its cantankerous demeanor, Pangoro does not tolerate those who pick on the weak. With arms powerful enough to snap a telephone pole, it charges into battle like a berserker heedless of any damage it might suffer. Pangoro and its pre-evolved form Pancham are the only known Pokémon capable of learning Arm Thrust in Pokémon Sword and Shield. In the past, Parting Shot held this status.

Biology

Pancham is a bipedal, mammalian Pokémon that resembles a young panda. Its head and short, puffy tail are white. It has a triangular black nose, rounded black ears, black circles around its eyes, and tufts of fur on top of its head and on each cheek. Its upper body and hind feet are black, while the lower body is a dark gray. Where the two colors meet the dark gray forms a three-pointed pattern on its chest. There are three digits on each paw and small, dark brown circular pads on the soles of its black hind paws. Pancham carries a small, green leaf in its mouth. There is no actual purpose behind this leaf, aside from an attempt to look cool.

Pancham looks up to Pangoro as a leader and tries to emulate its behavior. If Pancham makes a big mistake, Pangoro will take away its leaf. It tries to make itself look serious to its foes, but its glare is not intimidating enough. Despite its attempts to look frightening, it cannot help grinning if patted on the head. Pancham and its evolved form Pangoro are the only known Pokémon capable of learning Arm Thrust in Pokémon Sword and Shield. In the past, Parting Shot held this status.

Pancham evolves into Pangoro in the early level 30s. In order to evolve Pancham into Pangoro, you need to have one other Dark-type Pokemon in your party. Pangoro’s type is Fighting/Dark.

If it evolves by level then why would it also need a Dark type in the party?

Tangela only evolves when leveling up and knowing Ancient power, so he could evolve as soon as he learns it or he could re-learn it much later then level and evolve.

Something like that :p

Otherwise, Pangoro would be broken if you could have one at level 6.

But it needs to be around level 30.

I think a better comparison would be how Mantyke evolves with a Remoraid in the party, the difference being that Mantyke can evolve at any level. WPM’s wording is weird, I think a better way to have said it would be that it evolves when there’s a Dark type in the party and Pancham has to also be level 30 or above or something.

You must carry a Dark-type with you in your Party along with Pancham, then level Pancham to 32 to evolve it into Pangoro.

Pangoro è basato su un Panda gigante, anche se il suo carattere stizzoso è più riconducibile ad un Grizzly o ad un Gorilla.

Origine del nome

On a computer it is usually for the desktop, while on a mobile phone it is usually the background for the ‘home’ or ‘idle’ screen. Though most devices come with a default picture, users can usually change it to custom files of their choosing.

A mobile wallpaper is a computer wallpaper sized to fit a mobile device such as a mobile phone, personal digital assistant or digital audio player. The height is often greater than or equal to the width. Wallpapers can typically be downloaded at no cost from various websites for modern phones (such as those running Android, iOS, or Windows Phone operating systems). Modern smartphones allow users to use photos from the web; or photographs captured with a phone’s camera can be set as a wallpaper.

How to Evolve Pancham into Pangoro in Pokémon X and Y

From the same source who managed to predict the last Pokemon X and Y reveal (as in the new Pokemon and region info mentioned in Coro Coro Magazine and on the official website), here’s the new round of rumours:

Pancham evolves into Pangoro in the early level 30s. In order to evolve Pancham into Pangoro, you need to have one other Dark-type Pokemon in your party. Pangoro’s type is Fighting/Dark.

A Pokemon named Inkay evolves into Malimar. To evolve it, you have to hold your 3DS upside-down when it levels up (the 3DS has an accelerometer and gyroscope, so it can detect that). Malimar’s type is Dark/Psychic.

A Psychic-type Pokemon named Espurr (ESP + purr) evolves into Meowstick (Meow + mystic?). (Sounds like Psychic-type cats. Meowstick’s name sounds too similar to Meowth to me though.)

Like in B/W you have two rivals – one is friendly and the other is competitive. Your rival that is more friendly gives you his/her fully evolved starter Pokemon after you beat the game.

Another professor named Sycamore gives you either Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle.
Even though it shows the player riding on a Gogoat in the new trailer, players can’t ride on their own Pokemon. What was shown is just an alternate way of getting around Lumiose City and it only works with Gogoat.

HMs still exist but there’s a lot less of them.

Players will be able to see their Pokemon’s EVs (probably through the same in-game facility mentioned in the other post).

A new move, Belch, is a Poison-type attack that has a base power of 120. The user must consume a held Berry to perform it.

Draining Kiss is a Fairy-type attack that heals the user for the same amount of damage performed. It has a base power of 60.

If the previously revealed forme of Mewtwo can be said to look roughly similar to Mewtwo’s original design, the second supposed form of Mewtwo can be said to look roughly/vaguely similar to Mew’s design.

In case you missed our correction the other day, the Starters’ final evolutions are Fire/Psychic, Grass/Dark, and Water/Fighting.

Personally, I’m not sure about all of these. I mean, the starter final evolution types and the moves seem plausible enough, but a Pokemon which requires you holding the 3DS upside down to evolve? That seems a little far fetched, almost like those ridiculous fake cheats from the late 90s. And a Pokemon that evolves based on the types of others in the party is interesting too…

But all in all, it sounds plausible enough in general. What do you think of this latest round of Pokemon X and Y rumours?

Your #1 X and Y info site!

Pancham is a Pokémon that resembles a panda. It’s head and short, puffy tail are white. There are tufts of fur on top of their head and on their cheeks. There are black circles around their eyes, and the ears are also black. The upper body and hind feet are black, while the lower body is a dark gray. They have dark brown eyes with no visible irises. There are small, dark brown circular pads on the soles of their three-toed feet. These Pokémon carry a small, green leaf in their mouth.

Pancham was first unveiled in CoroCoro along with Helioptile , Gogoat and Fletchling.

Pangoro evolves from Pancham when it levels up with a Dark-type Pokémon in the party.

Pangoro is a very large Pokémon with rmainly black and white fur. It has a fur cape that it uses as a coat. It has a leaf in its mouth that it uses to sense it’s opponents next move.

It was first leaked by WaterPokemonMaster from an employee who worked with the English translation department for GameFreak.
It was officially unveiled in the July 2013 CoroCoro along with Spritzee , Swirlix , Inkay and Malimar.

And to make everything much cuter.

New information regarding the upcoming X and Y titles in the Pokemon franchise has made itself known today. This data comes in the form of new evolutions, moves and rivals.

A Pokemon rumored to be named Pancham has started making the rounds, and it is believed that the creature will evolve around level 30 into Pangoro. Supposedly, this will require the presence of a Dark type Pokemon in your party, as Pangoro’s type is Fighting/Dark.

Another Pokemon, Inkay, will evolve into Malimar. Not much else is known about this Pokemon apart from the rumor that you have to hold your 3DS upside down to trigger an evolution while leveling it up.

Each generation of Pokemon has their own form of “cats,” and a Pokemon named Espurr will reportedly evolve into Meowstick.

One of the new moves that will be in Pokemon X and Y is called “Belch.” This move will be a Poison type attack wielding a base power of 120. In order to use this move the Pokemon must be holding a berry, though it is not known if it must be of a certain species.

Another move called “Draining Kiss” has been rumored as well. It’s said to be a Fairy type attack that heals the user for the same amount of damage done, and has a base power of 60. This is interesting because most health-stealing attacks only heal for a percentage of the damage done.

The game will feature two new rivals, one friendly and the other antagonistic. While this will follow suit with previous games in the series, your interactions will be different. It’s rumored that once you have beaten the game, the friendly rival will give you his or her fully-evolved starter Pokemon, making it much easier to complete the Pokedex.

This info comes from the same source that accurately detailed the most recent Pokemon X/Y Pokemon reveal.

Standing at 6 feet 11 inches tall and weighing in at 299.8 pounds, it’s my favorite and newest addition to the ‘Bear Pokemon’, it’s Kalos’ very own Pangoro. Known as the Daunting Pokemon, the word ‘daunting’ meaning intimidating, menacing, ominous, etc. Pancham, Pangoro’s prior form, as well as Pangoro itself, are both based on real world Panda Bears. Pangoro’s design also takes inspiration for Japanese Delinquent Leaders from the early 70’s and 80’s known as ‘Bancho’, the flowing Black Cape an the angry expresion being the homage. Pancham’s name is a fusion of ‘Panda’ and ‘Champion’, while Pangoro’s is a fusion of ‘Panda’ and the Japanese word ‘Gorogoro’, meaning ‘rumbling sound.’

Pancham starts out as a simple Fighting Type, and according to it’s Pokedex entries, it “It does it’s best to be taken seriously by it’s enemies, but it’s glare is not sufficiently intimidating. Chewing on a leaf is it’s trademark.”

But, you start to notice something rather drastic about the change between Pancham and Pangoro. This is Pangoro’s Pokedex entry from the same game, Pokemon Y. “It charges ahead and bashes it’s opponents like a berserker, uncaring about any hits it might take. It’s arms are mighty enough to snap a telephone pole.”

Not exactly cute and cuddly anymore, huh? Theres a reason for that, and it’s actually deeper than you may think. As of right now, Pancham is the only Pokemon in the series that has an Evolution Prerequisite of needing a certain Type of Pokemon in your party, and what kind of Type is that, you might ask? A Dark Type.

Pancham must reach Level 32 while there is a Dark Type Pokemon in your party to evolve.

At first glance, that may not sound too bad in comparison to real world wording. I mean, what, it isn’t like some shadows or some darkness is going to be a bad influence on someone. Except. This is Pokemon. And in Pokemon, Dark Types are far more sinister than you may imagine.

From the sudden change of a kind Panda to an enraged and battle frenzied Panda, it is implied that at some point in Pancham’s life, it came to know a role model that turned out to be a bad influence on the young and developing mind. A role model in the form of a Dark Type. So let’s get right to the nitty-gritty. Whats so bad about Dark Types?

Zoroark, the Illusion Fox Pokemon or the Monster Fox Pokemon: Pokemon Black2/White 2 Pokedex Entry: “Stories say those who tried to catch Zoroark were trapped in an illusion and punished.”

Absol, the Disaster Pokemon: Pokemon Ruby Pokedex Entry: “Every time Absol appears before people, it is followed by a disaster such as an earthquake or a tidal wave. As a result, it came to be known as the disaster Pokémon.”

Houndoom, the Dark Pokemon: Pokemon Gold Pokedex Entry: “If you are burned by the flames it shoots from it’s mouth, the pain will never go away.”

Cacturne, the Scarecrow Pokemon: Pokemon Sapphire Pokedex Entry: “If a traveler is going through a desert in the thick of night, Cacturne will follow in a ragtag group. The Pokémon are biding their time, waiting for the traveler to tire and become incapable of moving.”

Now that we’ve made clear that Dark Types aren’t exactly the best of role models, we must now address what exactly the Dark Type influenced on Pancham. And thanks to the Pokemon X/Y Anime, we may have an answer. Pangoro and Pancham are ALWAYS seen with a leaf or a plant in their mouths, and in both examples, both plant matter are described as ‘chewing material’. Innocent at first, right? We all sucked on our thumbs or claws or tails at one point in our youth. However, theres noting innocent about this. This, is an addiction.

Specifically a Chewing Tobacco addiction. Pangoro’s design is based on the design of Japanese trouble makers, and though the term began to die out as time progressed, it was briefly used to describe someone else. Someone else who, in America, had a massive Chewing Tobacco problem that caused many, many CHILDREN to use Chewing Tobacco as well. In Japan, Baseball Players were given the nickname bancho, and in America, many generations of children looked up to their favorite Baseball Players as their ROLE MODELS.
In the Anime’s Pokdex Entry, it states that “Pangoro has an ornery personality. It holds a bamboo sprig in its mouth, which allows Pangoro to detect surrounding movements.”

Tobacco is grown as a plant and is harvested and ground down into a chewing powder, so while what Pangoro is chewing is not a Tobacco Plant, nor do I believe Pancham’s leaf belongs to a Tobacco Plant, theres something more to it.

Yes, yes what Pangoro holds in it’s mouth IS a Bamboo Sprig, and while that sounds innocent and normal since Pandas in the real world love Bamboo, the biggest evidence that I can provide is, thanks to the Anime, we know something very. Peculiar, about Pangoro. In the Pokemon X/Y Anime Episode 11 ‘The Bamboozling Forest’, and this is from the OFFICIAL WIKI:

‘A frightened Chespin unleashes a Pin Missile that accidentally destroys the Bamboo Sprig Pangoro always carries in it’s mouth. Without it’s beloved bamboo, the Pokémon is left weak and ill. Ash, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie finally find the Pokémon and immediately set out to find a new Bamboo Sprig so Pangoro can get it’s strength back.’

Without it’s Bamboo Sprig, Pangoro loses it’s will to live. It’s will to move, to fight, to, exist. In the Anime it is shown to be completely immobile throughout the entire episode, so much so that the Pangoro is TIED UP by a pair of HUMANS, and Pangoro, without it’s Bamboo Sprig, does nothing to fight back. Do you know what this sounds like? This is check for check exactly how someone deprived of their addiction becomes. They become anxious, nervous, they feel weak and unstable, they lose the will to live, they lose themselves.

Heres the summary: Pancham, an unintimidating, small, childish little scrapper, wants to grow up to be big and tough. Pancham wants to be scary, but with his adorable appearance and attitude, it cannot be pulled off. Then, along comes a Dark Type, and honestly, any one of them would do. The Dark Type’s cunning and wit, it’s sheer evil nature, it’s dangerous personality, it’s all alluring to the developing young mind of Pancham. This is the perfect opportunity to become threatening! The Dark Type takes Pancham under it’s wing, for it’s own interior motive or not, and influences Pancham negatively. One could fitting say the old as time phrase ‘All the cool kids are doing it

Don’t you want to be cool?’ Instead of a proper role model working to get Pancham to stop the trademark leaf chewing, the Dark Type encourages it since ‘Whats the worst that could happen?’ Eventually. Pancham evolves into Pangoro, and the chewing goes from a simple and harmless attempt to be ‘cool’ and ‘like my role model’, to an addiction that has all but consumed the now Dark/Fighting Type, providing both a questionable strength, and a crippling weakness. All because of the role model.

How to Evolve Pancham into Pangoro in Pokémon X and Y

How to Evolve Pancham into Pangoro in Pokémon X and Y

Another set of rumours have appeared online and claim to reveal several new bits of information on Pokémon X & Y. We were uncertain whether we wanted to post these at first, but we’ve decided to go ahead. Water Pokémon Master of PokéBeach originally posted these rumours.

Smash will be airing in a few hours with their Pokémon X & Y Special with their reveal of all the Corocoro information released last week. It seems unlikely that anything else will be concretely confirmed or revealed but there’s a slim chance. As usual we will be covering the episode so check back for the post soon.

Remember none of this is to be considered true, that’s not to say it isn’t. Until anything is officially confirmed there’s always scepticism over what’s true and what’s not. Regardless we hope to have some juicy information for you soon! We know how much you all enjoy discussing these so called leaks and analysing them down to the last details. The insider information is as follows…

  • Pancham evolves into Pangoro in the early level 30s. In order to evolve Pancham into Pangoro, you need to have one other Dark-type Pokemon in your party. Pangoro’s type is Fighting/Dark.
  • A Pokemon named Inkay evolves into Malimar. To evolve it, you have to hold your 3DS upside-down when it levels up. Malimar’s type is Dark/Psychic.
  • A Psychic-type Pokemon named Espurr evolves into Meowstick.
  • Like in B/W you have two rivals – one is friendly and the other is competitive. Your rival that is more friendly gives you his/her fully evolved starter Pokemon after you beat the game.
  • Another professor named Sycamore gives you either Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle.
  • Even though it shows the player riding on a Gogoat in the new trailer, players can’t ride on their own Pokemon. What was shown is just an alternate way of getting around Lumiose City and it only works with Gogoat.
  • HMs still exist but there’s a lot less of them.
  • Players will be able to see their Pokemon’s EVs (probably through the same in-game facility mentioned in the other post).
  • A new move, Belch, is a Poison-type attack that has a base power of 120. The user must consume a held Berry to perform it.
  • Draining Kiss is a Fairy-type attack that heals the user for the same amount of damage performed. It has a base power of 60.
  • If the first forme of Mewtwo can be said to look roughly similar to Mewtwo’s original design, the second form of Mewtwo can be said to look roughly/vaguely similar to Mew‘s design.
  • In case you missed the correction from the other day, the Starters’ final evolutions are Fire/Psychic, Grass/Dark, and Water/Fighting.

This information was passed on to PokéBeach who has said these will be the last of the rumours they will be posting.

Again, please remember this is entirely a rumour and is not being delivered by an official outlet for news. See you all soon for Smash!

Pokebeach, the publication that got the four latest Pokemon names correct, has received a fresh batch of rumours related to the forthcoming Pokemon X & Y. The source behind the information can’t be verified, so it’s clearly worth taking this latest batch of information with a grain of salt. That being said, Pokemon Smash will air later today, and Junichi Masuda, one of the founding members of Game Freak, will be on the show. Let’s hope we get some fresh Pokemon X & Y information. Anyway, here’s those delicious rumours.

To evolve it, you have to hold your 3DS upside-down when it levels up (the 3DS has an accelerometer and gyroscope, so it can detect that). Malimar’s type is Dark/Psychic.
  • A Psychic-type Pokemon named Espurr (ESP + purr) evolves into Meowstick (Meow + mystic?). (Sounds like Psychic-type cats. Meowstick’s name sounds too similar to Meowth to me though.)

Team Rocket Forever

Wow, I wasn’t too excited about this episode until I saw that preview, but it looks fantastic!

My favourite episode of BW by far was the Palitoad/Stunfisk double capture, and with Pumpkaboo randomly showing up I can’t help but dream about Ash/Serena – Pumpkaboo/Pancham

Team Rocket: Built On Lies

Set after the events of Operation Tempest, Giovanni’s next scheme plans to send the whole world into ruin. But how will Team Rocket cope when they realize that Operation Tempest changed Giovanni forever.

I want to hope that Ash gets the Pumpkaboo because it would fill his Grass slot, as well as give him his first CAPTURED Ghost type. But chances are that Serena will probably catch it due to the cuteness.

Or hell, maybe no one will get it and it just roams free.

Quite possible. I’m fine with anyone on the main cast getting it cause I love it’s evolution.

But the none episode featured captures are more usual for TR. When a main cast gets a poke it’s more like today’s ep.
I would love for Ash to get a Gourgeist along the way.

I actually have a scenario in mind myself- Ash catches the Pumpkaboo, but it doesn’t obey him. Meanwhile, Serena catches a Phantump at some point in the future, but it happens by accident and she finds herself creeped out by it. Eventually, it turns out that Pumpkaboo is more loyal to Serena, and Ash thinks Phantump is awesome, so they decide to trade, and both of them evolve upon completion of the trade.

As for Pancham, if anyone’s catching one, it’ll be Jessie, mark my words.

Jessie it is. Wait. She already has Wobbuffet with her, unless people want her to own a Kalos Pokemon.

I want Pumpkaboo with Jesse. For some reason I can see them together.

Pancham are adorable. I’m excited about this episode. Everyone seems to be getting something interesting to do. I’m not surprised the starters are paired up together. It was expected.

Jessie with Pumpkaboo/Gourgeist? I dunno. I’m more inclined to see her get a Pancham. Hell, before the X/Y series got underway, I predicted that Jessie would get Inkay and James would get Pancham, and the both of them would evolve simultaneously to showcase their unique evolution requirements (Pancham battling alongside the Dark-type Inkay should be sufficient, and however they’re gonna implement Inkay’s evolution method, I don’t even know, but still). I can still see that happening the other way around- Jessie with Pancham>Pangoro and James with Inkay>Malamar.

I also stand by my prediction that Pumpkaboo will go to Ash initially, and then get traded to Serena to evolve it into Gourgeist.
