How to speed up your minecraft experience with minecraft land generator

I want to create a new world on our Minecraft server, but exploring a new map and generating terrain causes massive lag.

Is there a way to pre generate the chunks (with the default map generator) in a specific radius around the spawn?

I’m looking for a Bukkit plugin or tool I can use on our Linux machine. An offline tool I can run on my local machine is ok, too.

In this thread on Reddit, I found a command line script that will generate terrain by repeatedly restarting a server with varying spawn points until the area you specify is filled. This seems like just what you’re looking for.

There’s also a Bukkit plugin named WorldGenerationControl which can do it on a live server.

It’s slow, but you can automatically teleport yourself across all the chunks in a specific area of the map to have them generated using Python and the pexpect module (which I’ve used to send the teleport commands).

First, make a copy of your game data for testing purposes, then open a command prompt at that directory and do the following:

$ pip install pexpect

Paste this code into teleport-expect.py (adjust playername and the xcoord and zcoord ranges):

Once the server starts, login to the game. You should see your player automatically being teleported one chunk at a time across the area of interest. Visiting a 5000×5000 area will take multiple hours to run.

It’s not a fast way to generate a map, but neat to see the scenery fly by. I mainly wanted to test running the Minecraft server inside a pexpect session. Lots of potential for other automation (say, watching for user-created commands on a vanilla server)!

There are a large number of ways to clear large areas very quickly in the Technic Pack, such as auto miners, quarries, and the various abilities of Red Matter tools. However, I cannot seem to find any way to automate or speed up building.

Are there any techniques or tools that can accelerate building in the Technic Pack? Prefereably, I’d like it to work on Tekkit, which has a smaller set of mods.

Both Technic Pack and Tekkit include ComputerCraft, which gives you access to Turtles, one of the most wonderful automation tools.

A Turtle is a programmable block just like a computer, but it has an inventory and is capable of movement, digging (when upgraded to be a Mining Turtle), block placing, and sensing its environment and inspecting the contents of its inventory. You might already be familiar with the Mining Turtle’s use with macro commands – excavate and tunnel being popular – but since it’s a full-fledged a CC computer block you can program it with Lua directly. Giving it a program with a combination of looping, movement, and block placement commands, you can have a Turtle build arbitrarily complex structures.

If you’re really ambitious, you could build Wireless Turtles and coordinate them via Rednet from a single program running on a central computer.

(As with most automation, Turtles don’t like being unloaded as part of a distant chunk. The usual solution of World Anchors or Teleport Tethers can be useful for long-running construction programs.)

The automatic building tools as part of the Buildcraft mod in Tekkit looks like they do what you want.

Builders consume materials you put in them and create buildings based on a template or a blueprint you give to it. Templates only preserve block position in structures, so the builder will use any available materials to build your structure from a template. Blueprints preserve blocks position and material (although orientation might be messed up), so it’s important you provide the builder with the right materials when building your structure from a blueprint.

You create templates and blueprints using a template drawing table. It defines an area where you place blocks to show the shape of the structure you want, then remembers where you placed blocks. Again, if the table draws to a template only position is preserved, whereas with blueprints position and material is preserved.

I’m not sure how practical this is for building a structure only once since template drawing tables require you to place blocks – it might be faster to build it yourself in some cases.

electric heater + coils (10 EU/t per coil, up to 10)
place steam generator next to electric heater (make sure the electric heater face with the output is facing the steam generator)
keep steam generator fed with water
place condenser next to steam generator

put a fluid ejecter upgrade in the condenser to get the distilled water into an adjacent canner. heat vents (up to 4, 2 EU/t each) make the condenser work faster. the steam generator is a bit of a mystery. I maxed both heat and water input when making a large batch of coolant cells.

Make sure to take the coils out of the electric heater when you’re done or else the steam generator will explode (haven’t found a way to control the heat generator otherwise).

Has anyone noticed once the Steam Generator exceeds 100C it starts making steam but then drops back down below 100C heats up, makes steam, drops back down over and over again. It seems unable to heat up while producing steam.

This is causing water to flow out of the system. Even with 100heat incomming and only trying to use 1 mb/tick of water it stops accepting heat when it generates steam causign the agravating loops.

Can’t you do distilled water in the solid/fluid canning machine with water and lapis dust?

Its a magic recipe in that its not in NEI, but I use it to make coolant cells. If I’m thinking of the right thing.

distilled water simply reduces the amount of lapis dust to 1 instead of 8. Also i figured out the steam issue.

Just run the Steam Generator at 22 Bars pressure and input 110 heat per tick and it will make steam constantly. It needs to be matched perfectly in order to work correctly.

The stack i have is,
Empty Space Empty Space Canning Machine
Empty Space Condenser Wooden fluid Pipe
Electric Heat Gen. Steam Generator Electric Heat Generator

One Heat gen should be 60 heat per tick the other should be 50.

I built a stack – 64 – of solar distillers, and the amount of distilled water coming from them is awesome. Much better than my previous method of using Lava and Heat Exchangers and Condensers and all that bull. They require no power and as long as you can build a whole bunch of them, they’re quite sufficient to keep making those coolant cells for the Overclocker Upgrades. I’ve made thousands of cells for thousands of upgrades, I have 224 Recyclers going to make scrap boxes for my 64 Mass Fabs, each Recycler has 8 Overclockers. That’s a lot of Coolant Cells. LOL

Using 1 lapis dust (with distilled water) instead of 8 (with normal water) to make the coolant cells is definitely worth the effort IMO.

IC2 Coolant is the only reason you’d be making distilled water, so basically they’re one and the same thing. You’re really not off base at all. You’re also right about the IC2 coolant recipe not being in NEI (in Infinity modpack), I pulled my hair out for a while until I figured it out via the IC2 wiki.

Lag is one of the saddest things that a Modded Server player can experience. Here’s how you can avoid some lag in your server:

🌲 Decrease Your TickSpeed 🌲

You can decrease your TickSpeed by using this command inside the game on your server:

/gamerule randomTickSpeed 2

NOTE: You will need to be an OP for this. If you don’t know how to become an OP, please read our How to: OP Yourself on Your Minecraft Server article.

Cording to the " Minecraft Game-pedia " the "randomTickSpeed" land to:

How often a random block tick occurs (such as plant growth, leaf decay, etc.) per chunk section per game tick. 0 disables random ticks, higher numbers increase random ticks. Setting too high integer results in high speeds of decay and growth

By default, Minecraft has the randomTickSpeed set to 3 .

🔌 Reducing the Server View-Distance 🔌

Here is our guide for changing the server view distance.

To do that you’ll need to:

Login into your Multicraft Control Panel.

Click on " Files " and click on " Config Files ".

How to speed up your minecraft experience with minecraft land generator

Click on " Server Settings ".

How to speed up your minecraft experience with minecraft land generator

Find " View Distance " and set it to something lower such as 5 or 6.

The View-Distance uses an equation to determine how many chunks the server-side will load for the players.

The equation for view distance is: (2x+1)²

E.g.:
For the default, of 10, should be: (2*10+1)² = 21²; 441.

Click on " Save " and restart your server.

Automatic restarts unload heavy chunks that are still loaded on your server and damaging your server’s performance.

You can set your server to automatically restart at a time when players are not using your server following our Scheduled Restarts article.

🔩 Using Anti-Lag Forge Mods 🔩

Using Anti-Lag Mods can be very dangerous but they can also be used to avoid huge lag on Modded Servers.

We recommend using RandomPatches on any Forge server you can as it is improving the performance a lot! Note that this mod is available for versions higher than 1.8.

To install them just drag and drop the Mods into your `/mods`directory.

Here is our guide for installing mods into your server.

If you’re using SpongeForge, please use this to get timings:

Here is our guide explaining about SpongeForge.

🗺️ Pre-Generating Your World 🗺️

The Minecraft world creation is a process based on complex calculations. What is to know is that the world is generated dynamically as you play, meaning that the full world is not created when you start playing, but it generates more and more as you play.

A good way to reduce lag on your server is to set from the start a radius where you want your players to play/ explore, then use a plugin/ mod to pre-generate the chunks from that zone, so when players will explore that zone the game will just have to load the already existing chunks instead of generating them.

We have a guide here that explains how to pre-generate your world, also giving examples of plugins/ mods for pre-generating your world for nearly any Minecraft version.

World Pre Generator Mod

A great mod to use to pre-generate your world on Forge server is World Pre Generator. This mod can be used on 1.12.2 or higher versions of Minecraft. Our guide for setting it up and using it can be found here.

Here is our guide for installing mods into your server.

If you’re using dynmap mod make sure to set the resolution to vlowres or lowres inside the configuration.txt and also the render type to jpg instead of png.

Here is our guide explaining how to set up and use Dynmap plugin.

🕸 Using Less Mods 🕸

If you’re experiencing huge lag and can’t get more RAM (⚔🔥POWER🔥⚔) for your server, you’re able to think and re-check your Mod list. It’s suggested to remove additional extra optional not necessary Mods that it won’t affect the server without it.

Remove them from your /mods directory using your FTP File Access and restart your server.

📀 Upgrade your service 📀

Upgrading your service to a server with more RAM or switching to the premium plan may improve your performance. This is especially true on servers that have a lot of plugins or mods that use more RAM.

Here is our guide for upgrading your service.

Please note that you can always upgrade your service any time you want, paying only the difference and not the full price all over again. Without any additional fees or taxes, upgrades take effect instantly. The same goes for downgrade, so when you downgrade, the extra sum will be automatically added to your account credit for future purchases with us.

I have made a base in a tainted biome.
It spreads. but not very fast at all. Initially it appears to spread fast as the generator algorithm scatters tainted biome "bits" around in a wide area and they initially don’t appear very tainted. As they link up, the appearance is of rapid, uncontrollable, spread.

However, once the initial area is fully tainted, subsequent spread is slow. very slow. and remarkably easy to control (assuming flat terrain).

There is a two part synergy to the spread of taint:

Fibrous taint spreads onto blocks in a tainted biome (breaking certain blocks(dirt)) down into tainted soil and then encrusted taint. It only spreads in tainted biome.
It can spread from tainted biome into non tainted biome on the border, causing the tainted biome to spread.

Tainted biome does not spread by itself, or have any negative consequences – that is all driven by the presence of fibrous taint.

The crucial thing is: Fibrous taint does not spontaneously spawn – it only spreads. it cannot spread over water. it does not spread up or over glass, and cannot occupy the same space as a torch, fence wall or other transparent block.

It is thus quite easy (if time consuming) to clear an area of fibrous taint, wall off uncleared areas, and live in safety.

Tainted biome might spread on the surface because of the presence of fibrous taint in tunnels, but unless the tunnels come close to the surface fibrous taint won’t appear on the surface, and the spread will be limited to the extents of the tunnel.

All that said – if you are going to do thaumcraft in your game, don’t worry about it now. you will have the tools to deal with it long before it becomes a problem. Its really slow.

Awesome, thanks a lot.

That last paragraph is the most crucial to me. I’ll have to measure its progress. Apparently the world spawned with quite a large area of tainted biome. I did read somewhere that it can travel over water. That is it infects the floor blocks and that way can travel across the water. There is a river between me and the biome, so hopefully that would stop it.

I was just worried about, since this is a server and will be up even when no one is on, it getting out of control really quickly. If I can ignore it for a while I’ll be really happy. Just worried about it getting too big to control.

Minecraft is one of the most innovative games out there. But have you ever heard about the Minecraft tick speed command? If no, let me tell you about it.

It is said that by playing the game people can really sharpen their mind and boost their intelligence, especially in their respective places of work. Like it is doubly beneficial: it provides access to unlimited fun and leaves you more intelligent than before.

However, like all the other games, Minecraft is more than psychological than it is anything else. It requires the players to devote all of their attention to progress in the games as it is based on realistic themes of how things really work in real life.

The gamers are having difficulty coping with some aspect of the game which only a Minecraft Tick Speed Command can counter. Although commands, as necessary as they seem sometimes, aren’t a legal way to progress but you are allowed to use one every now and then.

In this article, therefore, I will educate you on what is the Minecraft Tick Speed Command as well as the know-how of using it to progress a little more further in your game.

What is Random Tick Speed in Minecraft?

Well, the Minecraft game is amazing and you know that. But sometimes the nuances take too much energy from us that we feel, let’s take a break from the game. However, that would not be the case, as far as the random tick speed is concerned.

The Minecraft normally takes 20 ticks per second. That kind of makes the game difficult and therefore there arises the need to have something that would palliate the Minecraft fraternity.

The good news is that you can change this part to your advantage by allowing cheat code in your games. One such code is random tick speed Minecraft.

How to Insert Random Minecraft Tick Speed Command?

All the gamers aren’t necessary in-built software geniuses: some require some external help to do otherwise simple software functions, such as entering a code or a command. Well, you don’t have to worry I will try to help you here!

There is only one changeable part, as I have mentioned earlier, that is, “random tick speed”. Many of the gamers think that it will somehow change the speed of the ticks but that not how it works.

What it does is that it changes the number of blocks that are selected randomly. For instance, random ticks on grass blocks try to spread the grass to nearby dirt blocks. In other words, more grass blocks mean that grass will spread in fewer ticks.

There is a disadvantage though; slowing ticks would slower the overall pace of the game that is because random ticks make blocks move slower.
To change how often a random block occurs – that is, plant growth, leaf decay, etc. – chuck per game, there is a random tick speed command that can do it for you.

It works on the base that the higher the integer you put in, the higher the speed of growth and decay you will get. To use this, you will really be required to enable cheat codes in your game settings. Furthermore, you also need to know that the command will only be used in JAVA and Bedrock editions.

Here is the command ‘/gamerule’ > command > number speed (that is between 49-250)

How to speed up your minecraft experience with minecraft land generator

In short:

As we all know the Minecraft default random tick speed is 20 ticks per second. That you can change by using the command ‘random tick speed’.
By using the above code you can relive the experience of playing Minecraft with a little bit more enthusiasm and vigor that was missing earlier.

OfflineTV has officially launched their own Minecraft server.

OfflineTV is an online social entertainment group of content creators who are based in Los Angeles, California. Together, they produce a wide range of content, from prank videos to vlogs and much more.

OfflineTV was founded in 2017, and the current members are Scarra, Pokimane, LilyPichu, Disguised Toast, Yvonnie, Michael Reeves and Brodin Plett. Ever since their creation, the group has had lots of success playing a variety of different video games, with the most recent being Minecraft.

They had a Minecraft server before, and it was so popular that it included OfflineTV members as well as a large variety of other streamers, but it unfortunately died off.

However, due to it’s prior popularity, the server has been brought back once again with some big changes. The goal seems to be to produce a vanilla experience, while using some cosmetic and progression-based mods to speed things up and help the creators make the best content possible.

OTV Minecraft

Originally, OTV Minecraft was a modded Minecraft server that was used by OTV & Friends in late 2019, using BaboAbe’s FTB Revelations modpack. The server ended up having 2 different “seasons” due to Disguised Toast blowing up the previous server. When the server became inactive in December 2020, the OTV Rust server was created as the successor to the FTB Revelations server.

The first server had a plethora of people both playing, and those who were invited but never joined due to complications or other reasons. This included:

  • BaboAbe
  • Scarra
  • Pokimane
  • LilyPichu
  • Disguised Toast
  • Michael Reeves
  • Natsumii
  • Sykkuno
  • Brodin
  • Yvonnie
  • Valkyrae
  • Fuslie
  • Edison Park
  • PeterparkTV
  • Masayoshi
  • Karl Jacobs (played for a bit)
  • Tommyinnit (played for a bit)
  • Smajor

Who will be joining the OTV & Friends Minecraft Server?

OTV Minecraft Server coming back:
– June 2nd, 12PM PST launch time
– Initial invite list of around 40 players
– New players invited on a weekly basis
– Aiming for a vanilla experience with mods for cosmetics and progression
– Land buying (pay diamonds to expand your land)

— Disguised Toast (@DisguisedToast) May 30, 2021

With the launch of OfflineTV’s new Minecraft server on June 2nd, fans have seen plenty of streamers on the server already. Disguised Toast has stated that the server will begin with about 40 invited players, and that they plan to add more content creators on a weekly basis.
